The Welsh need a good start I feel.



If they get a good win over a competitive Italian side then, it will pull in the punters.



England do have the advantage getting first pick on all the players. It's basically a GB side in everything but name and the rest of the home nations get 2nd picks.



This is the other knock on effect of a possible reduction in SL sides. Less pro players, less for the rest of the home nations to pick from.



I do hope Wrexham can come back to SL at some point. Yes we need a strong French side, but also a strong Welsh side. 3 strong teams in the Northern Hemisphere and then we are starting to talk about a more international game with roots.

I fear for Wales on Saturday. That Italian Squad looks good enough to concern New Zealand who I think they will meet in the Quarter Finals....they will be bursting with confidence after their upset win over the English and I don't see Wales being able to stick with them.

Not really, Jamie Peacock said that Kopcazk and Flower would be in a GB squad, and I'm sure there are a couple of players from Ireland and Scotland that would be there too, Brough for one. The home nations split is working, the challenge now is to give these nations more regular meaningful matches so that the top players have a reason to turn out for them more often. Meaningless token friendlies at the end of every year won't cut it anymore.

I've been very lazy and left it until the last minute to get my tickets and have not been following this thread so can someone answer my probable obvious question:



Is the Final lower tiers all sold out? Or are they just reserved elsewhere? I know a few local amateur clubs are doing group booking/tours and did have these available. All I could get last night was up in the gods!



As a Rhinos fan I've sat just about everywhere in OT and up there is not a very good spot as last time I couldn't even see a clock never mind the big screen, this is because the roof comes right down and you're almost level with the tip of the roof only leaving the pitch visible.

I'd say Brough is the one player that should have played. But he is only playing for Scotland as Steve Mac did not select him.





I'm not sure who we'd have dropped for Kopcazk and Flower. It's one thing to pick players who could be in the side, but did Peacock say who he would have thrown out???



I hope the Italian Welsh game is a close contest, but a win for Wales will be just as important to them as a win for England will be for us.

Just spoken to someone at the RFL who says Workington, Halifax, Avignon, Rochdale and the FINAL all due to be announced as sell outs in the next week! Great news if true!

This.And to play as GB from now on inbetween World Cup's on major tours to OZ which would mean a more even split of the playing talent amongst the Home Nations.

Halifax can't be a sell out, they haven't even opened all of the stands ..............

It is a sell out if all the available tickets have been sold.

I don't think they would call the final a sellout without the top tier of the north stand opened

But if they've sold out everywhere else in the stadium 4 weeks prior, they would obviously open top tier

The top tier is open for sales. It is still grey but you can buy tickets in there. It was opened up on the ticket site about 2/3 days ago.

When the top tier of the West stand at Elland Road wasn’t open, it wasn’t because of ticket sales, there has been building work there and at one point Ken Bates was too tight to pay for a safety certificate for it so regardless of how many tickets were sold, they couldn’t open it.



There is a bit of difference between not opening a stand and not being able to open a stand.

So it is. They need to update the stadium plan diagrams. I was thinking they haven't changed for two weeks

Tickets selling well at Leigh but I think the bonfire effect will lower the gate, hope 7000 will be hit
