was watching an nfl doco. on one of their teams and they used the term bomb to describe those long high passes from quaterback to running back and i think gibson took that idea, realized you cant throw the ball forward in RL and adapted it to a "bomb" kick we have

im sorry but the more you dig that hole the deeper you get
just listen to the league fans mate.
Wrong. And yet again, your opinion is all you have to back you up.
FACT 1. League is bigger than Union in Australia and PNG. (tired of referring to Gidiots error earlier) FACT 2. Union is bigger pretty much everywhere else. FACT 3. The same sources that you like to quote for viewing figures for League are the same ones that give the quotes for the RWC. FACT 4. Rugby League needs to create an event that can attract the money from sponsors and advertisers that will help it grow at the same rate that Union has over the last 23 years. By Grow, I don't mean players or attendances, but as a viable Media opportunity. If you doubt this as a fact, keep on wankin9 over SOO viewing figures which generate revenue for Murdoch but not the sport. FACT 5. I started this thread to discuss the opportunity of a second RL franchise for the NRL in NZ. FACT 6. Most of the posts from EA, eelsfan and Gijou have been followed by gratuitous use of the and the in the inane belief that they look big and clever....... FACT 7. I have proved both eelsfan and Gijou WRONG, the second culprit twice. FACT 8. It is the opinion of the above and yourself to be honest Dally, that Union TV figures are made up. Be careful. The AUP is designed to protect these boards from legal action and to constantly say that figures that are published globally (that's outside Australia as well as NSW) is potentially worrying. I have sold to clients over the years quoting viewing figures....and P&G (too easy) would be very keen to know from the three stooges and yourself exactly where they have been wasting the advertising budget.
Get over it. UNION shat all over League for years, but League is still there. Celebrate that fact without displaying your obvious envy at the global reach that they have achieved in 23 years of preofessionalism ..(sorry...the last but was a bit of a wind up). Get over it! Anyway..........caketin has seen a massive positive response from the rsidents of Wellington......and is now considered an asset to the city. Let's get an NRL team in now...nothing like striking whilst the irons hot.
Oh eelsfan. Any time you feel like acting like a MAN........saying what you'd do to me if you met me whilst sitting behind a computer isn't the best way. I Own you and the Gidiot......and don't feel the need to describe physical violence to make myself feel better. Calm down son..........you'll make yourself ill.
I can do this all night..... Union has EVERYTHING to do with what league does. I fully accept that in AUSTRALIA League rules, as it does in PNG, (not P&G which is a large GLOBAL company by the way), but everwhere else, Union has managed to come out on top. I know it's hard for you to accept, but the bottom line is, regardless of what you think of the viewing figures that are reported for the RWC......you can't deny that more people tune in. If you do try to deny it, stop posting the very same sources of viewing figures for league audiences that you try to belittle when they report Union. Moreover, the IRB have managed to turn a minotiy sport into a massive media opportunity for the likes of P&G (not PNG...that's a country by the way). So, Rugby League CAN learn from Union. I am not condoning all that has gone on in the past, but if you want to look at a sport that has shown how to create a GLOBAL media opportunity (generates revenue....therefore development and growth) then you'd be hard pressed to see a bigger success story outside of soccer in the last 30 years. If League wants to grow, the they need to create an event that will interest the likes of P&G (They spend over £1 billion a year on marketing and promotion a year by the way...that's the company, not the country) and the way Union have gone about their business could give a few ideas to league. Anyway.......Wellingtonians have shown they are keen for a game with action and atmosphere...look at the RECORD gates for the wendyballers earlier this year. I believe a Franchise would do well, but they would need to find a benefactor to get it off the ground.
Just quoting this so you don't go editing it as I think this shows what the majority of Union fans and you esp think.
Feel free to continue to post, it makes for interesting reading from the rah rah mindset.

RL doesn't need your or Unions approval to play anywhere and never have.
...please tell me where I suggested that. You really are out of your depth here.....but keep thrashing about, you might attract a lifeguard. What I said was League could cherrypick a few ideas that Union have managed to make money from......pay attention

Dally...........if you want to stand toe to toe with me on the BUSINESS side of League, feel free, but don't ever fall into the category of these idiots. I don't troll and I started this thread with a genuine question. I could easily have used BASKETBALL viewing figures as a comparison, but because I used kick and clap, you seem to have jumped on there tricycle.....don't, it does you no favours. If you want to know why these boards are so thinly populated compared the the VT.....I suggest you look at the hijack tactics these numpties use. They call someone a troll, then all three of them laugh amongst themselves. I am willing to play, because they are too easy to catch ad I have the time, but the REAL RL fans are staying away because of it.

And Gutterfax, I, being a red blooded Aussie would no have a problem telling it to your face.
You're a PW clone.
Ooga booga
I have no idea what PW clone is.
Is it something from Star Trek, Star Wars or Stargate? I know you keyboard warriors have your box sets handy for when your broadband goes down or you run out of tissues, but please, if you are going to talk to adults, explain your teen-slang
quite possibly ...oh dear, am I getting to you. Where's gidiot when you need him
No, I just don't like people who think they can control what others do, hence you're a patronising git.

RL doesn't need to learn anything from Union as it has the biggest Rugby comp on Earth.
Deal with that.
When the League gets the IC up and running, all the other things that are missing in the game like international expansion will come, until then, RL is doing as well as it is, and in this case, the #1 Rugby comp on Earth.
More people watch RL each week at the games and on TV than the combined countries of NZ, Australia and South Africa, those are facts, not BS you go on with.
