During the current franchised, 14 club, top 8 play-off system SL era... the total attendances in SL to date remain the lowest we have ever witnessed. Neither the replacement of the poorly-supported Crusaders with the better-supported Widnes, or the establishment of 2 new stadia, or the re-establishment of heavily-discounted SL tickets have prevented 2013 SL attendances from being the worst on record so far.

SL Rounds 1 to 21 total attendances comparison (2009 to 2013)
SL 2013 - 1,235,272 from 139 fixtures plus 7 MAGIC fixtures.
SL 2012 - 1,380,757 from same 139 fixtures plus 7 MAGIC fixtures.
SL 2011 - 1,293,879 from same 139 fixtures plus 7 MAGIC fixtures **
SL 2010 - 1,266,537 from same 139 fixtures plus 7 MAGIC fixtures **
SL 2009 - 1,274,605 from same 139 fixtures plus 7 MAGIC fixtures **

SL 2013 % decrease in attendances
V SL 2012 = -10.54%
V SL 2011 = -4.53%
V SL 2010 = -2.47%
V SL 2009 = -3.09%

** except replace Widnes with Crusaders

if that's what you need to tell yourself and your other Internet personas it's all good with me, if 'bites' are what make you feel good about yourself that's pretty sad but £100 is pretty likely to be going to St Gemma's hospice and I think we should all feel good about that.

If you were really that enthusiastic about charitable good causes and feel good factors, you'd have taken me up on my bet which countered your assertion that SL was on course in 2013 to record the second highest ever attendances in RL history.

That £100 bet is still on offer BTW (no gutless 5% safety net applies here).

I wasn't aware of that offer otherwise I'd have most definitely recorded it. Made no difference anyway. In fact both Huddersfield and Wakefield attendances were down on last years attendance for the same fixture despite the cheap ticket offers.
