Why, don't you like to have a debate about how poop your youth set up is, and why you have to buy a new team every year? Or don't you like that question???????
They gave him a four year deal and said they wanted to build a successful team around him, then signed nobody. They appointed a coach who wants to completely change the way he plays for the worse. They also guaranteed movement on the stadium front to give him a piece of mind to sign a four year deal and not surprisingly that has stalled and with news of Wakefields go ahead could mean Cas could wait even longer. Rangi is rumored to now be a father so maybe his loyalty has slightly changed in life and thinks a move away from Castleford would be better for his career and family.
It's interesting that you seem to know the details of Chase's contract discussions. Can you do me a favour and provide some specific evidence that Cas "guaranteed movement on the stadium front", or have you just made this up? It's also worth pointing out that Millward was the coach when Chase signed his extension, and Chase looked very happy to do so on the photograph of them together when this was announced. Watching the team every week, I could criticise Millward plently, but he has not changed the way Chase plays. In fact he seems to have given him more freedom (I think the word 'structure' is alien to Millward), and has the most try assists in SL despite missing about 6 games.
No it really doesn't, I mean if you bothered to read my first post you will see I explain the current state of Hulls youth system. The point I am getting at (which again you appear to miss) is that you have called Hull for signing other teams players yet your club has done the same. As for Westerman he went to Cas from Hull.
So the only person barking up the wrong tree here is you as I have never claimed our youth set up is better. I just merely pointed out that yours is not perfect, I mean you wouldn't be were you are or were you have being the last ten years if it was so brilliant. Granted you have lost a few or your better academy players but that brings me back to a point earlier, they must be something your club is doing to put these players off staying.
I think you'll find that the intention is that Castleford are trying to build a homegrown team and supplementing them from teams from other sides. Indeed, most of the younger players we've signed are ones that haven't been given a fair crack or been released by their respective club, i.e. Emmitt. Next season, we'll have Owen, Shenton, Clark, Huby, Walker, Milner, Holmes, Massey, Thompson, Clare, Atkinson, Brierley, Johnston, Martin and Dan Fleming all in the first team squad and training full-time. All of which have come through the Cas academy. 15 players isn't bad going is it? 12 of which have come through in the licensing period.
The only reason we can't retain them is a) facilities b) pressures from licensing and c) money from other clubs (along with ambition/trophies).

Sorry Kosh but he is talking like he is billy big testicles. He has been in the sport about 6 months? and so far he has all but told the RFL how to run the sport and pretty much stated that he is going to buy FC to the top of the sport.
Or maybe he trying to distance himself as much as he can from the previous regime at Hull. Pearson isn't interested in what the rest of the RL world think, only what his own teams supporters are.
Pearson has ideas he wants to share with the RFL and stuff he disagrees with. He won't be the only with such views.
Not you personally, my post was in response to a post made by a Cas fan prevoiusly. The point I was making was not that Castlefords youth system is poor , more the fact that Cas themselves favor signing other teams players rather then blooding there own at times too.
You really didn't produce our best players either.
Shows how little you know about Cas.
15 Cas home-grown players in squad this year, 16 if you count Ferres who is from Cas. If not, 16 not come from Cas. An equilibrium.
And if it's that poor, why have we had offers for Daryl Clark and why have Shenton, Arundel, Westerman all left.

I'm sorry - I didn't realise that AP had the ability to force other clubs to sell contracted players. How very dare he offer them a large sum of cash and then force them to accept it? It must be hell for the poor dears.
Maybe you should be asking why your club is willing to flog off the family silver rather than pointing a finger and a trembly lip at the big bad man from the East. Could it possibly be because they've been offered a fair price?
It's not so much at Hull but in general. The compensation system in League is ludicrous. How is it fair that a player, who a club has invested lots of money in and brought through gets paid what I consider to be peanuts if they leave for nothing under the age of 23?
And not so much at Chase but the constant cherry-picking of those with money for the best young/stars at other clubs.

They must be something in the wind that translates my posts into west riding. I have never said Castlesford youth system is poor and if I did it would have purely being for sarcastic purposes. The point is you said whats the point of developing youth if you can buy other peoples players. I was merely pointing out that Cas themselves sign other teams players and if your youth set up was fantastic you wouldn't need to do so. Thats not to say it is poor just every now again a bad egg is laid which means clubs have to explore elsewhere.

And all that means he has to gob off and state how he is going to spend silly money almost daily does it? With the greatest of respect I don't think he has properly adjusted to the difference between RL and the association game. Daily reminders about how 'I have loads of cash' and 'I will spend silly money' makes him sound like he thinks he is billy big testicles. Sorry.

Our youth setup has being poor and under invested in for 10 years. We have made changes and investments and now play the waiting game. What else is they to say on the matter ?
