The only people to blame for the paucity of this site/thread are the ModsAdmin - they have clearly made a decision that they do not wish to actively manage the site.So be it.The two in question have both been banned from other rl messageboards.

Right, putting aside the ego contest and getting back on topic...

Just bought two tickets for Cardiff, it was difficult to find two seats together in the Catagory 6 tickets. I still need to buy tickets for Wembley and Hull, waiting to hear confirmation from mates who have expressed an interest in attending the games, they are from Birmingham and Nottingham respectively.

To compare this World Cup to international RU shows a complete lack of understanding of the other code. Let's not get hung up about seats and just enjoy the competition.

Warrington led 16-2 in Saturday's Grand Final, but their joy was short-lived as Wigan roared back to win the Super League title and extend the Wire's 58-year wait to be champions

Re: World Cup Ticket Sales : Sat Oct 19, 2013 9:19 am
I think people might be surprised by the crowd for Ireland v Australia. Having been to Limerick and spoken to the locals about RL, the place is sport mad. If a team wearing the Irish colours turns out in their town, they will be there to back them.

I don't know how much publicity the game has got out there, but with a little bit of effort in the coming days they could easily hit 5 figures. If the Aussies arrive early in Ireland and get about in the town, even better.

You are a Huddersfield fan whose patronage of the game is entirely dependent upon the availability of heavily discounted season tickets costing £100 and in some cases as low as £50.

It is to be hoped the heavily discounted £5 or £7.50 seats you've purchased for the England V Ireland game in Huddersfield don't have a negative impact on your potential patronage of the game in the future.

It doesn't because I quit attending SL games two seasons ago.

Has anyone received their England V Ireland tickets yet?

We ordered ours months ago, and received them all of our tickets together about 4 or 5 weeks ago with the exception of the England V Ireland tickets. My brother ordered his last weekend and got them early this week!

I think we will better all our previous attendances, both overall and average from the last world cup in this country and I think it will make a decent profit. You can't ask for much more than that.

What would you consider a decent profit?

The rlwc2000 was considered a financial disaster overall, yet it still made a profit of £2 million on the back of the sale of TV broadcasting rights. The Lincoln Financial Group paying £1 million upfront as naming sponsor of the tournament also contributed. The poor attendances for the tournament as a whole (263,961) probably contributed to the disaster it turned out to be.

Bearing in mind lots of tickets for the rlwc2013 have been sold at half price, there is no naming sponsor paying £1 million into the pot this time around, and Premier Sports can hardly be considered to have paid top dollar for their broadcasting rights, what attendances does the tournament need to achieve in order to make a decent profit and be considered a roaring success?

Nope but they posted a message on the RLWC 13 website stating there had been an issue. It has now been rectified and tickets are on the way. If you haven't had them the week of the game, ring them and I am sure they'll sort out collection at the ground. I had an issue with Challenge Cup Final tickets; rang them two days before the match and they organised a pick up at the ticket office.
