Disastrous night for SL attendances, in spite of the decent weather.

UPDATE...
SL Round 19 attendances - comparison to same fixtures last year

Castleford V Hull in 2013 = 6,022
Castleford V Hull in 2012 = 9,050
% decrease = -33.46%

Salford V St Helens in 2013 = 3,248
Salford V St Helens in 2012 = 5,447
% decrease = -40.37%

29 out of 120 SL fixtures have shown an increase in attendance compared to the same fixtures played last year. 81 out of 120 SL fixtures have shown a decrease in attendance compared to the same fixtures played last year. (Not including 7 Magic fixtures whose attendance was down on 2012 anyhow).

It is to be hoped that the following offers available...

1. Bradford V Widnes - Adults ONLY £9, or 2 Adults ONLY £17, or Family of 4 ONLY £22.
2. Wakefield V London - Adults ONLY £5, KIDS FREE!
3. Hudds V Leeds - Adults double game offer (Leeds & Catalan) ONLY £25.

... might inspire enough people to drag SL attendances out of the mire during the rest of the weekend after such a pathetic couple of turnouts this evening.

Just reported on BBC that there are still tickets available for the British GP next week, a sign of the times perhaps

Despite selling 1000 less season tickets we (hkr) are only 500 down on last years crowds, every cloud!

Come on William I’m getting giddy to see whipping boy S.L rabble Wakefield with an increase attendance, thanks to selling tickets for about ten bob.

If I was a Wakey fan who had purchased a season ticket providing an average SL match price of £9.62 per adult or £1.92 per junior, I'd be gutted at the club allowing the great unwashed in today for just £5 and the juniors for FREE!

Nevertheless, a huge well done to Wakefield for clocking up an attendance of over 8,000 for a SL fixture against one of the utterly hopeless SL franchises who hardly anyone wants to watch, and which has almost every other SL club giving away tickets when they play them at home.

Please excuse me for a few minutes whilst I get all giddy inputting today's numbers on to the spreadsheet

Make sure you use the correct Catalans attendance of 14,858 rather than the incorrect 12,000 being spouted by the BBC.

The offer at Wakefield today was taken up by a few.... adult tickets were a fiver if bought before the game. On the day it was ten quid and the attendance was 8203. The corresponding fixture last year was attended by 5876. An increase of 40% (if my mental arithmetic is right).
