You are a Huddersfield fan whose patronage of the game is entirely dependent upon the availability of heavily discounted season tickets costing £100 and in some cases as low as £50.
You don't qualify any time soon to pass judgement on me who attended 7 World Cup fixtures down under in 2008 and will be attending more than double that number in 2013.
It is to be hoped the heavily discounted £5 or £7.50 seats you've purchased for the England V Ireland game in Huddersfield don't have a negative impact on your potential patronage of the game in the future.
I like how you've not mentioned the Hudds game selling out.. You seem to of glossed over that, to pick holes in something... Let's here some positive thoughts on them selling a game out vs ireland...
Don't hold your breath. William just ignores things he can't answer or doesn't like the sound of. Which is a shame because he usually has a half decent point underneath it all, but he can't stop himself from exaggerating way beyond the truth. His attendances thread and his posts about this years Challenge Cup being good examples.
Can't speak for young Billy, but I have no agenda. I want to see a successful Sport managed in the best way possible. The RFL, who are essentially organising the RLWC 2013 will pat themselves on the back and position themselves as genius marketers, as well as astute business brains when in fact, they are nothing of the sort.
The Celebration of an England game selling out is astounding.....this is a World Cup for gods sake.
By the way, I still say if they'd gone past the 2008 ticket sales total they'd have told us......cryptic press releases about "seat" sales are all well and good, but the fact that they are "confident" that this will be the best attended ever (300,056) means that there are still 40% of their TARGET sales missing.
The glass is often half full with RL supporters.......which explains why Nigel and his cronies will still be in charge of the sport this time next year
I am already booking games to record as far in advance as I can and will get up at stupid o'clock to watch some live. I deride the way the game is managed, not the game
I don't put you in the same Catergory as get obvious troll William.
However earlier on this very thread you said you would play Australia V.S England at the galpharm and pack it out to create demand.
We have done that with a much less attractive fixture and you brush it under the carpet like it isn't an achievement?
I do agree that if its a successful WC it doesn't gloss over the issues in SL.
However the WC is completely seperate dedicated team.
was watching an nfl doco. on one of their teams and they used the term bomb to describe those long high passes from quaterback to running back and i think gibson took that idea, realized you cant throw the ball forward in RL and adapted it to a "bomb" kick we have

I haven't brushed it anywhere....I simply said this is a World Cup and England games should have sold out the minute they were announced. Cardiff paid for the right to host the doubleheader and Nigel had to take what cash was on offer because he already knew that tickets for a fiver weren't going to make a profit. As for separate and dedicated team, Ms Bolton is/was an events manager at the RFL, the marketing and sponsorship team are near identical to that at Red Hall and the attitude to spin is exactly the same. They are 40% short of their target..........that is a worry and no amount of cryptic press releases will change my point of view on that. The fact that the RLWC 2013 final still has 15,000 available seats is astounding.......80,000 people attend 7 SL games every week in the UK......between the fans apathy and the RFL's incompetence, the sport seems quite astute at self harm IMHO.

I stopped short of personal insults and tried to appeal to the RL fan that you claim to be. And I get that tirade in return. I have been a Huddersfield season ticket holder since the age of 6, and am a 3rd generation Fartown fan. My support and attendance at RL games has nothing whatsoever to do with discounted tickets, and it is frankly none of your business and very patronising and insulting to pass judgement on other people's reasons for following our great sport. Judge not lest ye be judged, and you've done a whole lot of judging. Congratulations on attending 2008 games, this is not a competition to see who is the most dedicated supporter of RL, I couldn't give a fig if you've travelled further to get to games than me (though I would guarantee we have both travelled the same maximum distance to see live RL).
As I said before, if you really are a fan of TGG, but genuinely have legitimate concerns about its health and the way it is run, then I would agree with you in some areas. But SURELY you realise that insults, petty unbalanced nitpicking and downright rudeness is not going to win over anyone to your point of view, and will only reinforce people's differing opinions.
Good stuff. This is exactly where RL is falling short. Not enough networking thru the junior clubs and schools. It's simply "too much trouble" and then the sport wonders whey it is so small in the UK compared to RU.
Hypocrisy is alive and well. The RFL has been ridiculed for boosting attendances for the Rugby World Cup by discounting tickets but when the game they play in heaven gives away free tickets with the same objective in mind, it's a brilliant marketing ploy. No wonder Saracens lose money on these Wembley borefests.

24 whole seats not sold. Tragedy. The cup will be a complete failure.

I think it's on course to be the biggest attendance ever for a RL game in Ireland.
so,how many tickets have been sold? What's that you say? Oh, you're guessing, because the RLWC 2013 organisers refuse to release actual figures, but instead prefer to announce % of available tickets.... Word to the wise buddy....if you don't know how sales are going, don't comment. 3,207 is, I believe, the record for an Irish RL international at home....Thomond Park holds 26,500....the insanity of this match being played in Limerick will be brushed aside by the biggest ever crowd for a RL international in Ireland

Bitter much?
The other lot will discount tickets for their jamboree in 2015.....don't worry about that. The main difference is they manage to get people to attend. Saracens are a perfect example.....poop club, poop game, yet they get 61,000+ for a Heineken Cup pool match.....struggling to find the last RL international that got close to that.....might have been the 1995 RLWC final....but you ridicule Saracens.
Luck is a combination of preparation and opportunity

SOMEBODY SAID that it couldn’t be done But he with a chuckle replied That “maybe it couldn’t,” but he would be one Who wouldn’t say so till he’d tried. So he buckled right in with the trace of a grin On his face. If he worried he hid it. He started to sing as he tackled the thing That couldn’t be done, and he did it!

I only watched the 2 nd half in the pub, but it wasnt the usual ' kickathon ' ,I actually enjoyed it, the ball was passed, glad the Saracens lost it by going for the long penalty
