Wasn't an excuse....it was an observation regarding attendances at various World Cup in relation to the population of the host nations. You pointed our the drop in numbers as I'd it was purely down to lack of interest/demand.....I just showed you it wasn't that at all!

If I am a troll buddy, then I deserve an award for longevity....I want RL to do well in the UK but under the current management and governing body, it won't happen....billy does have a point....RL fans in the UK have got used to getting it on the cheap.....that's a tough habit to break!

Final tickets that I ordered last week have arrived, still no sign of any england v ireland tickets though!

Just tried to buy 2 tickets for the Huddersfield game and no 2 seats together.

Ticket sales for Cardiff have passed the 34k who watched the 2008 opener according to the Guardian and sales have picked up this week.

Just a word of warning for anyone staying in the Bristol area for the opening ceremony weekend - there are now no trains between Bristol and Newport that weekend and it is a replacement bus service instead. Journey time is reckoned to be 1 hr 45 mins using this service.

Due to lack of official announcements on actual RLWC ticket sales, the number sold remains a grey area in more ways than one.



It'll be interesting to see if the forecasts of those who are predisposed towards an analysis of grey areas in relation to sections displayed on RLWC stadia maps will resemble ticket sales in the real world.

I think the article is wrong. Twitter the other day said 45k had been sold... The organisers previously had stated 90% of lower/mid tier had been sold a few weeks ago (that is 37k) but that doesn't take into account Upper Tier sales. I have been noting upper tier sales via the website over the last few weeks. I'll add that to the thread later as in a bit of a rush now. It's not perfect as no 'guestimate' ever is but I reckon 48-50k have been sold so far...

It really does upset you when there is some good news for Rugby league doesn’t it. You kept track of a thread for nearly 2 years because someone was positive about RL. 2 years, 2 usernames, untold amount of spreadsheets and hours of your life spent denigrating RL simply because people were positive about Super League.

Can anyone provide any stats to the number of registered users/active posters against the total number of RL fans so I can understand why the views of 1 or 2 individuals is representative of the RL public as a whole ?
