Leeds council objected to the Headingley plans, the Wakefield plans and refused to upgrade South Leeds stadium when Hunslet got promoted to the top division a few years ago after they had promised to do so when Hunslet gave up their rights to play at Elland Road, which was council owned at the time. Do they have an anti RL agenda?

LCC opposed the Newmarket Development because the leader, ironically called Keith Wakefield, is a ward councillor for Methley, where the majority of the objections came from.

Not strictly a stadium development, but at LSV there wll shortly be a Marstons pub right outside the ground, which should help to get fans together before a game and create a decent atmosphere pre match.
