You can treat them as separate games because they are separate games. 4 different teams will be playing in 2 games. It makes zero sense to pretend that is 2 teams playing 1 game.

And if you include 1/7th of the magic weekend in your clubs attendance total you would be wrong, because there wasn’t an 8.5k attendance to any of the Magic Weekend games. There was either 30k or 31k.
There are 2 games being played, there will be 2 attendances, they are simply included on one ticket.

Clubs have season tickets, mini season tickets, you can buy RLWC multi-game packages, none of these people who purchase 1 ticket for multiple games are stripped out.

If you only use 26 games, you are ignoring 2 games with 2 attendances and stripping them out of the calculation.

We know that 31k attended Leeds V Wigan on Day 2 of the magic weekend, we know the same attended the Bradford V Hudds, Salford V Widnes and Sts v Wire. So ask yourself what was the average attendance for those 4 games on day 2 of the Magic Weekend 31k who attended the 4 games or 8 k?

Just as we know a X number of people will attended semi-final 1, and X number of people will attend semi-final 2. To average those we would add them together and divide them by 2. We wouldn’t just pretend one didn’t happen.

We'll see what figures get quoted at the end of the tournament then.

There's plenty of £20 tickets available in the upper tier corner blocks for Cardiff. As low as row 5, so hardly in the gods.

Is that an individual ticket or a group together? As far as I can tell, they have sold more or less every odd numbered row in the £20 sections up to the very back row. They are now filling in the gaps i.e. even numbered rows and have done so in a few of those sections along with the vast majority of the £25 tickets (only limited numbers in U17 and about 10 rows in U22).

On a seperate note, it looks like the ticketing team have listened to me and released more £30 seats in the Upper East Stand as I had suggested. That said, you wouldn't know as they've not highlighted this on the page (you only notice when selecting an area) as per Wembley Upper Tier and the fast ticket mechanism still doesn't work for the Cat3/5 upper areas. That page is very much a mess!

They will count the double headers once of the total number, and twice for the average.

Remember the hugely successful 1995 World Cup?

England v Australia 41K At Wembley, and there really were tickets given away for that because my school got given hundreds.

In fact look at the attendances: Other than England v Fiji, Australia v SA & the Wales games they're pretty ordinary.

Semis are poor 30k at Old Trafford for an England game and 16k at Huddersfield for Australia v NZ and 66k for the Final with England in.

I reckon all of those crowds are pretty much guaranteed to be blown away.

That's a fantastic effort, might even sell out!

I don't understand why people seem to get enjoy belittling the RLWC when it's looking like it could be one of the most well supported we've ever had! We've got a fantastic opportunity to showcase our sport, why do some people not embrace it? I guess some people just like moaning...

I wish everyone would read bramleyrhino's post two or three times just to get it through some thick skulls

Mr bramleyrhino speaks a lot of sense.

This link suggests that 6,000 are to attend the two Scotland games at Workington: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-cumbria-24488374

Although Northern Rail's "we want someone else to pay us to run a revenue-generating service" is somewhat baffling.....

I'm so bored with all this talk of empty seats and what the crowds football and RU are at World Cups and how great they are and how garbage RL is. Yadda Yadda fecking yadda.

If you like International RL go to a game or two and enjoy it, if you're not interested shut up and stop ruining it for the people that are actually looking forward to the World Cup.

And for the record, even RU fans said their last World Cup was garbage.

If someone had told me 12 months ago that the WC would have sold as many tickets as it has, has such competitive squads and fixtures and was in the public profile as much as it is i'd have been really happy.

Hear hear!!!
I am quite interested in this thread but only the bits that aren't to do with certain posters waving their willies around. So I recommend following the thread but ignoring any post from Gutterfax, William Eve and Smokey. It's brilliant: I get some good info and sensible comment but without the rumblings from people who are clearly suffering from oxygen starvation from being on their high horses for so long.
Just enjoy the prospects of the upcoming World Cup and stop trying to prove to yourselves how clever you are - the rest of us aren't interested.

I just tried a few permutations of 2 and 3 tickets in a couple of blocks and best was showing row 5. The view from those areas still looks pretty decent.

What a night at Central park that was. 46-0 I think it finished.
The ground was packed.
Robinson got a couple, at least one of which was from a Goulding crossfield bomb which, at the time, felt like a cutting edge tactic.
