You're missing a whole load of "alledged"'s in there, Bird has not been convicted of beating anyone (and she also isn't his wife)

Did people turn their backs on Gary Schofield, Keith Senior etc etc. all who have been accused of the same (as have many many other sportspeople)

greg bird is not a wife /GF beater at all.

he did not even strike his GF apparently.

apparently he wsa having an argument with her, threw a glass at a table and it rebounded or something like that and hit her.

on the charges of lieing to the police, he is going to struggle on those imo

Two points...

1. As far as I'm aware, there has been no official reason given for Carney's visa refusal. The idea that it was solely down to his criminal conviction is pure speculation.

2. I'm pretty sure that the Huddersfield board were equally sanguine about Carney's paperwork.

According to McNamara, a decision is due within days so expect a decision on Mr Birds visa this week.

Because he hasn't yet been convicted and probably won't the way it's looking.
