No reserves, but resilience, persistence and determination are omnipotent.

Yes, it was. Why do you think they're the most sustainable?

Genuinely interested, I don't follow the Championship enough. One of the reasons for this thread.

They possess their own stadium, and land.
Good relationship with community club Featherstone Lions and Super League club,Leeds.
Loyal fanbase.
Good housekeeping - helped greatly by their relationship with Leeds - and opportunity for players.
Good location for players - to live in locality, and to travel to.

that's refreshing to hear, Featherstone once a pit village can't seem to shake that image off with some, its been transformed like other pit villages into a lovely scenic tranquil place to live, yes it still has its terrace housing but are no more run down like others say like leeds, were moving and had looked at Feathersone but we had chosen a little further on but they have become more local to me than Wakefield is.

on the rogue element there are unwanted fans and the next village on Streethouse which gained a reputation at one time
I await for the flat cap and whippet comment from one poster

Is the relationship with Leeds and the "borrowing of players" sustainable, I thought it had been abolished.

Having said that Fev is a decent club and probably is one of the more sustainable Championship clubs.
They were "robbed" of a SL position in the "golden ticket" raffle last year and as the beaten finalists against Toronto, the SL spot should have been theirs.- this is in no way having a pop at Leigh but, based on performances on the field of play, Fev were the only candidate.
Having said that, I'm not sure that they could survive in SL for too long.
But, decent club, decent facilities. Yes, access isn't great but, realistically, they could cope with 5000 fans getting in every week.
After all, they managed it back in the days of the old First Division.

York seem to have an impressive set-up, with the new stadium and on-field performances.

I suppose getting supporters appears to have been a problem compared to other clubs.

It's a city of over 200,000 people though, it surprises me that they've never had a well-supported sports team, not even the football team. Double Wigan's population, and Wigan have had success in both sports.

I, like many others, are worried about the future of our game, particularly how some of these Championship clubs might survive the fallout from COVID and over a year without matchday revenues. Could we see some historic names go to the wall?

Which of those Championship clubs seem to have the most sustainable model and ability to pull themselves out of all this in reasonably robust shape? Who will emerge from this to challenge for a Super League place in the next few years?

Oldham and Barrow are OK it's 12-6. Another 12 clubs are alive and kicking off very soon.

The clubs had a nice long break whilst we broke Covid. I think there was a far bigger break during the second world war. Income may have been low but wasn't expenditure low during las summer?

I think issues with sustainability are more likely to come when the Championship lose their SKY funding but they have managed before.......

A few have said similar, in the Super League 12th place thread. But quite a lot of fans seem to have a problem with their fans and don't want them anywhere near Super League.

They have got a hooligan problem which is quite bad by most club’s standards. that Halifax fan that was beaten half to death was really bad. In recent years they only have as many incidents as the other two Wakefield based clubs.

Yep they’ve had to sign their own players this year. It is good for your finances though using Leeds’ academy to field a team and only having 2 players on your books.

hooligan problems can happen at any club and I think we both agree it needs to be stamped out why you should need to mention Wakefield clubs just goes to show your bitter hatred to them, may of been years ago but I was once on a coach exiting odsal when a full house brick was thrown at the window luckily for me there was no injury but then again Bradford fans are angels

Yeah course. Going off actual reported incidents that have resulted in fines.

Bradford are well noted for our fans and community work. Us playing out of dewsbury’s ground allows us to reach more underprivileged people. With lockdown ending well be able to roll out our full schools programme. With players holding coaching sessions at schools in the Gawthorpe, Ossett and Horbury areas. It gives the club a chance to give something back plus all the free tickets handed out to kids create more future fans of the club.
