Thought this thread was about York City Knights.
It would largely be that but the usual suspects are here to shout it all down.
The choice for the game come the decision on TWP appears to be whether to go Transatlantic (hence Elstone included all three NA clubs in his deliberations)...... Which is one thing.......OR go back to Anglo-French.
All through this debate across the game there has been an idea that glamorous North American clubs offer us far far more than North of England championship clubs nobody across the world has ever heard of. But my point is that we can now see what the three north American clubs offer which is erm nothing, the only rich guy walked and the only potential investor wants to minimise his investment and grab TV money from here.
These subjects can't be isolated, yes we should talk about how well York and consequently Newcastle are doing on this thread, but we should recognise this is in the context of the opinion a number of people hold that we need these North American clubs because there's
nobody in the championship good enough to come into Superleague. What more do they want than two clubs with great ambition, £Millionaire owners, Great stadiums and player development systems they didn't have to have whilst outside Superleague? It's well worth reminding all on here how well York (and Newcastle) have done.....
The tremendous irony is of course there's a tendency for some Wakefield Fans to rubbish York and Newcastle, but I suppose as their club is struggling they may feel threatened by these clubs even if TWP get the boot. Wakey and TWP out and York and Newcastle in??. Would this greatly improve Superleague is the question now as the debate matures
