Exactly what I was thinking Col. Irrespective of whether we are pro-, or anti-expansion, I can't see any SL clubs fancying that 'jaunt'!

The only reason I want THEM to get promoted is to see how 'Sooper Dooper League' deals with their block fixtures. Obviously being full time won't affect the players with travel, but their might be the odd visa issue that crops up, but that seems to have been sorted with the authorities over there.

Yet you still can’t say why my post was ignorant or snobbish. Can you?
Are you saying you agree with me then?

Do you even know what you’re arguing about?

I can’t see how player welfare is an issue unless the flights are booked for too close to game day not allowing them time between the flight and the game.

If any players are part time that is irrelevant. That’s up to Fev to sort and ensure their players are available.

Why would Liverpool or Spurs fans go to Baku?

It was Chelsea v Arsenal, but it is a valid point.

"I'm sorry, but I would hope that we would beat Cas with a 1 day turnaround."

An arrogant Wigan fan a few days before we stuffed them 18-4 at the JJB.

Re: Featherstone : Sun Sep 29, 2019 8:02 am
Final should be on a neutral venue.

Headingley for example has held some cracking championship/ national league finals days over the year. When they combined it with the league 1 final too. A proper event.

No it isn’t a valid point, they played in an international competition and new there would be foreign travel.

So did Featherstone. They also could have avoided any foreign travel by finishing 1st.

No-ones denying it’s not tough on Fev. But I don’t quite see what everyone saying it’s massively unfair on them wants to happen?

I didn’t see massive furore at the start of the season when the playoff structure was announced. Most people thought it rightly gave league position a good advantage. It’s unfortunate for Fev they’ve been given the worst possible outcome but all clubs knew this could be a possibility. As long as the travel arrangements have been arranged well then that’s just how it is.

If clubs want to prove they’re good and strong enough for SL then they can’t whinge when they have to play in an international and full time competition. Too many Championship clubs want the benefits of playing in a full time comp but don’t want to pay their players enough to be full time.
Plenty of SL clubs would whinge just as much as well by the way.
