Hi All, thanks for the comments, most appreciated.
In answer to the point about adverts, indeed, the hosting costs do rack up, if you consider our sister site, www.oldfootballshirts.com has nearly 15K shirts, which equates to well of 30K individual pages, and a quarter of a million hits a month. We hope www.oldrugbyshirts.com is as successful too.
Also, we get inundated with messages from people wanting to buy the shirts, as we don't own the shirts this is not possible. By targetting the adverts specifically to the teams, the visitor can view all the historical stuff, and if he or she wants to buy, there are links to to ebay and other sites that sell Rugby Shirts.
The small amount we earn certainly will never allow us to give up our day jobs. If you take a look on the football shirts site, you will see at the bottom of the home page, we reinvest the money we do make into sponsoring football players in England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. If we "earn" enough from www.oldrugbyshirts.com I dare say we will look into sponsorship in Rugby.
As for the shirts added so far, thank you if it was you, we really appreciate it in these early days. We have allowed a few team shots, but ultimately we want it to be about the fans own shirts, and of course if you are a player, amateur or pro, you are most welcome to add your shirts. We hope to get shirts form the top flight to the local leagues from all over the World.
All the best, and we look forward to seeing a few more submissions.
