That's my reading of him too. Which is a shame as when he gets going he's a decent player. Some people often underplay the importance of the mental side of the game, he's a good example of how a poor mentality can spoil a decent player.
He was an infuriating lad. Some (Longy) can be pricks off the filed but pull it together on, he wasn't one of them.
Some Saints fans would say that he added much needed aggression to our team, but it wasn't the case - he was great at smashing a fullback just as they caught a high ball, but stick him one on one with a big ad and his booty would drop out (I vividly remeber us defending our line against Leeds once - he was marking Ryan Baily and, instead of trying to take him down, he when for an intercept, Baily walzed through the gap and offloaded for a try). Whenever the game would get tight, if he was at dummy half, passes would start to go to ground or in touch with alarming regularity. Then the was the penalties at vital times.
