Swinton (A) : Tue Aug 22, 2023 7:12 am
Never an easy game this. Certainly need an improved performance and our discipline will certainly be tested. Think we all know what sort of game it will be. Niggly and they'll be out to whack us from minute one.

Another win will put us in a strong position, but with an extremely tough run in of Fev and an in-form York side at home, followed by London & Sheffield away, we cannot afford another dumb slip up here.

Agreed. Swinton have always been a side that likes to get in the opposition faces and we've been suckers for falling for that kind of thing (Barrow at home being the most recent example). Hopefully we'll get a strong referee who nips all that rubbish in the bud.

Think we came through the game at the weekend without injury but I did see Jayden Myers holding his arm toward the end of the game. If they're all fit I'd pick the same 17. Patton misses out again for me.

Swinton will now be desperate for a win after they’ve been dragged back into a relegation battle with Keighley and Barrow after the Raiders picked up another win against Whitehaven last night.

We will need to come out with all guns blazing for this game. Our away form has been very patchy this season and we mustn’t get dragged into an arm wrestle with the Swinton team. Do the basics right and keep our discipline nice and tight and we should come out as the winners.

Given we know what type of game its going to be i think id give Myers the week off. Arundel back to Centre and England back in the team for me.

Agreed. Myers has done well this year, but it's been his debut year and he's played a few games in a row now. Don't think it will do his development any harm giving him a rest and bringing a bit more experience in as we enter the crucial stage of the season.

If England is fit and ready I don't see a problem with that. On Myers I've been impressed with him since he came back into the side. He's got a real toughness for one so young, he'll definitely make it if he stays fit.

Myers needs to play if fit for me. I know he is young but he has proven himself to be more than capable of handling the pressure.

Batley tried to put it on him and he just brushed them off. Let the lad play.

Given what we can likely expect from Swinton, we need the experience to steer us though. They will be up for it and we’ve seen a few times this year that full commitment can trump our skill especially away from home.

Brad England has been sent off twice this season for punching so he’d need to be on alert not to be targeted and wound up.

See Gledhills endearing himself to Swinton by making a story up about them changing to Manchester...

Can't help himself can he.

It's news and it's hardly making it up when everyone inside the sport knows about it.

Hence why this could very be the last Swinton v Bradford game.
