Got to admit, I didn't believe the rumours circulating with the Gill signing as I felt he would be snapped up elsewhere. So please we have got him but you have got to imagine that there is some kind of clause that says if a SL team come in for him then he can go (similar to the Rhys Evans one)?

Anyway, latest player additions make the team look a bit healthier in terms of numbers. The back line especially looks strong.

I do find it a little strange that we stole a proven try scorer away from a team with a healthy bank balance and high aspirations. How did we do that?

I guess it's because he wants to be back in West Yorkshire where he's from.

I speculated earlier on the thread that since Newcastle are going 'full time' perhaps he has a good job and doesn't want to go full-time?

No inside knowledge, just a guess

Good news, my only issue (not having any remote clue on any negotiations) is that as club captain 2 years would be more appropriate.

Jack Sanderson and Reece Hamlett confirmed to have left the club.

Hamlett has gone to swinton.

A shame as we never really saw either given much of a chance

Imo we had too many wingers with not enough quality
