Re: Round 2: Halifax Panthers : Sun Apr 18, 2021 10:16 pm
Overall a much improved performance from the bulls and perhaps Halifax thinking it was an easy day at the office after beating london, especially after going 0-14 up so quickly.

I thought both sides played about 40 mins each so a draw was a fair result. The difference in the end being the lilley DG and fax choosing not to go for one. Fine margins but a great game and so good to see and talk about some championship RL again.

Credit to the players and staff for that turn around after the Sheffield disaster. Some players obviously put in an effort to put right the wrongs and it’s showed. Same attitude every week and we should be competitive in most game and win more than we lose

On the contrary they have been proved spectacularly correct. A hard 2 weeks training and proper preparation has reaped an extraordinary improvement. Whereas those who constantly criticised the squad should now ask for forgiveness.

One swallow doesn't make a summer. It's great we turned up this week but it shouldn't gloss over the previous few results. If the team turns up to play consistently then they will have answered their critics.

Agree Bullseye.

We should enjoy the victory yesterday and today. Then get back at it with the same attitude for an equally tough game against Dewsbury.

With York losing again and Widnes losing at home to Dewsbury, the leagues wide open below Fev and Toulouse. But neither of those two are unbeatable and if you get in the play-offs its game on. We have the potential to finish as high as 3rd or as low as 9th. Most games will be decided by which team has the better attitude and just plays better. Very few games will be won by teams playing poorly as the gaps not as big as previous years. That's why I was so annoyed about our attitude against Sheffield and got what we deserved. We turned up with the correct attitude against a good Fax team and came away with the win. We need that sort of attitude every game otherwise we'll just get results like Sheffield.

I will definitely put my hands up and say I was wrong. I expected a hiding. Congratulations lads on the victory.

Don't think i'm biased...
...i'm just very narrow minded!!!!!!!

Re: Round 2: Halifax Panthers : Tue Apr 20, 2021 2:31 pm
I was one of those who have been critical of the coach and I stand by the comments.

I'm happy that it wasn't another 50 pts drubbing, but had the discipline not changed after the first 20mins then don't fool yourself that it wouldn't have been.

What the team showed was some character which is a positive, but the style of our play is still awful and we will get picked off against the more smarter and physical sides in the league.

The only way I'll be convinced otherwise is if we put a string of results together. So far its been 4 awful showings (friendlies included) and 1 half decent effort.
