That's reminded me of the days a fair while back when we were paid with weekly pay packets in cash!

One old chap I worked with would occasionally refuse his wages because he felt he hadn't earned it, that used to cause ructions with the management, and they had to work hard to make him take it!, they just couldn't afford the publicity if they hadn't succeeded!

Couldn't see that happening now with most wages paid straight into bank accounts and those with cash in hand payments (nearly put the wrong word in then) are unlikely if ever these days going to give it back!

I can remember a guy who refused to set up a bank account when we were told it would be 'cashless pay' from then on. They eventually compromised by giving him a cheque, so he then had to ask someone else to pay it into their account. That lasted for over a year before he was told the cheque would no longer be supplied and his wages would be put into an account for him! He capitulated at that point and set his own account up.

I got paid Friday. It was great, just in time for the bank holiday and a mango lassi IPA down the Cap & Collar in Saltaire
