halley : Sat Feb 28, 2009 10:58 am
is it time to recall dave halley?

and if so where would we play him?. Platt didnt have a bad game last night and showed some improvement over first game. sheriffedidnt make any massive errors either but only made one decent break in attack, so maybe recall dave and give him a shot on the wing. We need to do something to inject a bit of spark into things imo

Platt wasnt bad, but does opta count metres made if you run sideaways? might as well have saved his fitness and just dived a yard forwards.

Thought calderwood was good at running sideways but jeez platt takes some beating.

Platt showed improvement? Where exactly? But let's face it, he wasn't on his own. Newton, Sheriffe, Semi, Sykes, Jeffries and Deacon were all adding nothing.

Platt looks short of confidence to me.

I struggle to see what difference Halley would make to the team at the moment given that once the ball gets beyond Deacon there's nothing on show. If we'd had Lesley and TV back in their prime they still wouldn't have scored last night.

apart from a couple of balls that bounced over his head he didnt have any of his trademark brain farts. whilst he did run sideways a few times he made a fair few decent returns as well. your right about him looking like hes lacking confidnce which is why I'd keep him in the team bring halley in for sheriffe at the moment.

So we should just be happy if he doesn't make a balls up?

Perhaps we should, but we need more than that from our full back. He once again looked hesitant fielding kicks and apart from a couple of occasions, never looked likely to break a tackle. But like I say, he wasn't on his own once again.

What I wouldn't give for Withers back in his prime.

Just watched the first half of Wakey V Wire. Halley just scored a full length interception try to take his tally to 2 for the game.

I wonder how keen Halley would be to return in a few weeks given how well things are going for him over at Wakefield? Sheriffe needs to up his game to continue keeping Halley out the Bulls squad.

You think?

I'd say "it isn't what you know, it's who you know"

So you think somebody who was struggling to break into the first team last season will help us to start winning?
