Hull, Cats, Cas and Rhino`s only game looking likely is a win at Cas and that looks unlikely after our performance tonight.

Everyone around me tonight said they hope macca resigns, some fans dont help by saying players are crap.
One bloke shouted out to platt, oi platt go back to salford ur crap, platt turned back round and his head dropped. But he did have a good game, better than a fair few others, once again sherriffe did diddly squat, even halley has something about him in pace, sherriffe doesnt even have that.

That was disgraceful, I felt ashamed to be in same stand as that pr1ck. That was just after Tomkins break, Morrison clipped him then Platt finished him off - gave away a penalty when Tomkins conned the ref by holding Platt down - but still try - saving tackle. Then some idiot abuses him for making a great tackle, I despair .

Morrison, Burgess, Menzies, Platt all worked hard, and the squad isn't bust, but the coaching is. Poor marker defence, big hits rather than ball and all tackling, a play pattern that is now so predictable you can call them in advance, coupled with a cross field link between two halves that is so slow the opposition needn't move up - apart from they do and frequently threaten Deacon on the last play, resulting in awful kicking.

Rotation is bizarre coupled with occasionally suicidal - Wigan in 2006 play-offs - but there's evidence of it in every match - Tell me why Matt James, one of a few fit players was on the pitch for little more than 15-20mins, whilst Menzies is being left out for the full 80 or near as damn it. That tells its own story - because two aussie post-30 yr old second rowers are our most creative players. That in turn illustrates a rather odd pattern of recruitment, because let's face it McNamara's strategy is recruit second rowers who might be able to play as stand in half backs, front rowers or centres - the squad's full of them.

I haven't joined the debate between the naughty boys and girls and the patronising school teacher types for fear of ending up in a 'camp'. But anyone who thinks this is a blip, down to injuries, or some other lame excuse is missing the point. this is a direct outcome of a poor system that has become ingrained and needs uprooting. MacNamara has to go, they'll be plenty of applicants for his job, it's not as if RL has a surplus of SL coaching opportunities. Oh and I was at the match and in the half of our crowd who applauded the players for their efforts, irrespective of the performance, rather than booing, shouting for their money back or giving the players the finger (all of which was predictable but WRONG). If this goes on too much longer we'll start to eat in to the 10,000 home crowd that is our base, and that will make the situation much worse.

Agreed.

The highlighted part is the only bit I don't agree with simply because a poor performance doesn't deserve applauding. Applauding should be for when praise is deserved.

Not really, a club like Bradford should be beating the majority of the clubs in the league - including Cas.

Applauding is for the effort, and for wearing the shirt, making & taking the hits. Anyway - the general consensus is that it was not the players fault tonight, the boos mainly came when Sky put up a live shot of McNamara.

Ah well, everyone has a different interpretation it seems. The crowd seemed pretty split with 50% doing nothing or booing, and the other half clapping.

I stood still and stayed til the end, but didn't clap or boo.

Yes and some of them did deserve praise, some of them still had the enthusiasm to form a scrum (some didn't), some of them took a belting, and some played well despite being abused from the stands before the game had got going, one of them probably has quite a serious injury and others played on with injuries. I reckon unless you are sure you would/could do the same/better then it's at least worth some applause to acknowledge those who did make the effort. Not only that, I haven't seen Wire improve in leaps and bounds with their fans booing them at every opportunity, something i hope we stay clear of, just as long as we also stay clear of their ex-coach!

Well, that was a waste of diesel.

We actually put together a performance that was bad for 80 minutes. A performance that one or two posters have been praying for. The OP must have used up several boxes of tissues as the match progressed, and I don't think he was crying.

In the previous games, there have been some very good aspects of the performances and many players have done well enough - the majority, probably - but tonight, it was difficult to pick out more than a handful who emerged with any credit at all.

The magnificent three of menzies, Morro and Burgess were the pick, and oh how i wish that nincompooop Thaler would have got TF out of the way of the pass to Jeffries who was clear, 12-6 coming up to half-time would have been a different proposition but as usual, when you're crap, your luck is crap too, and we kept up our record of gifting the opposition position, length of the field progression and a try in the dying moments of the half, which is our speciality this year.

I don't know if Deacon had concussion and blurred vision last week, but he played and kicked as if he still has. Jeffries was awful again.

Any more positives? Well, Platt had another very solid game, and was easily the pick of the "Backs", though as far as I could see, during the game we picked up injuries to Platt, Newton (who could hardly stand up by the end), Godwin (sounded like a break), Nero to name but a few. This did not help, but it does not excuse the general level of performance which was in a word abysmal. We never once looked like we would score, so much so that when we did avtually string an attack together, the useless Sheriffe put the ball down post haste instead of running a few clear yards to improve the angle, as he probably thought he was dreaming and wanted to score before he woke up.

Needless to say, Deacon's kick was nearer our posts than Wigans. Was he drunk? From normally metronomic kicking, apart frm that shambolic slice, he was lobbing low dollies straight to the oppo wingers or full back, or kicking out miles on the full. Unbelievable, really, for a kicker of his quality.

One to forget, and I fervently hope a one-off. I don't care how many are injured, i want more fire in the belly and more effort than that.
