T&A are talking up a coaching role at the Bulls.

Would it be a double bonus having two hookers as coaches? Might we be better served with a back or [say] a prop as second coach? If they are the right people does it even matter?

So long as they're well qualified I'm not sure it matters what position they used to play in.

Maybe for more general skills coaching that's fair but seems logical that for specialised roles a coach who played in that role is going to have specific skills to pass on. Eg lowes and obrien/conroy. To maximise benefit to team you'd ideally want assistant/s to have played one of other more specialised roles IMO.

agreed Mat. I would like a backs coach with good defensive skills, as I can see this squads backs running a loot of points up in the first part of the season but suddenly in the super duper eights stood like rooted trees watching a load of SL backs running through them - just like plenty of games this relegation season. Scott Naylor does it for me.

Cummins was a three quarter look at how well the backs defend under him.

If Mullaney was that good he would be playing SL, looked good going forward but awful defensively when I've seen him, Shaul has been very good this year and already a better player than him.

If naughton signs I expect him to be back up for the full back and wing position.

Jay Pitts is a cracking signing, yet another great signing by the club. I was gutted when we lost Donaldson but i'm more than happy replacing him with Pitts.
