Re: Re-signings & new coach : Thu Feb 16, 2017 11:41 am
One downside with these loans is that I expect Lilley to be recalled as Leeds looked poor in the halves last week. Laroyer will go back as he is too good to sign and not use. We then lose two very good players. I hope there are permanent replacements lined up as I really can't see us keeping Lilley and Laroyer for too long.

Another piece of good news last week mentioned the part time appointment of the the chap associated with buying us at one point. Damien -- his last name has left me. I once read up on him and the comments from officials and fans were very good about how he transformed the commercial and sponsorship income. It said he had already brought in 11 new sponsors. This is another good sign that the owners are quietly getting things in place behind the scenes.

Us fans unfortunately want daily bulletins about everything that is going on. Some owners don't do it that way and this leaves fans frustrated. Maybe it is the new media manager who is being a little slow.

My expectations have changed for this year. I now see it as surviving the season and MUST keep the finances in the black.
All of our youngsters may not be good enough to keep us up but are our future so we must be patient and not knock or abuse them.
It may be a case of signing a few permanent players but probably use mostly loans. Not ideal but probably the only route for a club that went bust and is at the bottom of the championship.
If we are within 6-8 points of 9th place after 23 rounds then we hope the owners splash a bit of cash and bring in a handful of quality loans to basically win nearly every game in the play-offs - 12-14 points from all bottom table teams and we then stay up. We just need to hang on in there over the next 21 games.
We may go down but if that happens it is vital we keep building the academy, blood this current group of youngsters and not build up any debt.
I still have this feeling that there is a longer term plan for us and the stadium new or old but we must survive this next 2-3 years either in the championship or a combination of Ch. + Ch1.

It's exactly the same loan that was announced yesterday. Only difference is fact bulls press release doesn't mention 24hr recall option after the first month. Bit naughty saying it's a season long long as that implies no recall option.

It does look very much like Castleford doing us a big favour. As I said earlier, that's how the initial press release read to me.
Either way, it's happy days.

Yeah, it's still a season long loan but after the first month, Cas have the option to recall him if they choose.

The bizarre thing is if you were potentially spending the season on loan with another full time club, why the hell are you still training with the parent club?

Well they have signed one of our brightest prospects and also someone who we signed who has excelled at this level in Foster! Maybe they felt they owe us one haha. Joking aside does this put more into what people were saying yesterday in terms of not being able to sign people permanently due to red tape? IF we sign Moore should put that idea to bed, if not will certainly pose more questions

wonder if the training with cas is only for initial few weeks so he's used to their systems if they do recall him?. Other thought that springs to mind is who's paying what portion of his wage? normal arrangement for loans is wage is split between parent and loanee club. Would hope that if hes training full time for cas and only available to us on game days, then were only paying a small percentage of the wage and not more normal 50/50 split.
