Releasing Wood and replacing him with Shaw seems to be a decent move. Unfortunately, it means letting one of ours go but we can't keep them all. They have to be better than others we can get if we are to keep them. Shaw was on a 2 year contract at Wire from last year so they have released him as they already have some very classy backs. Their loss, our gain if it is true.

They were announced as two year deals, lasting til end of 2016 season. However if you look on Adam Brook's agents website it says one year with a option of a further year (presumably in our favor if we're calling it a two year deal), which might be where you've heard one year. As far as I can see nothing has changed in their contract status and club are just using re-announcement to make todays announcement seem a bit bigger. No need for it IMO. Most people would have been happy enough with us just announcing Mellor and Conroy.

Dewsbury would be my bet for Sam Wood, he seems to have gone well for them while on DR.

The other issue is whether they are part of the Frontline squad, or the 6 Juniors. I have asked for clarification, but we may only find out as the full squad unfolds.

Plus Blythe, he's much better at centre than second row.

(And someone else who's also been rumoured, although I can't remember his name... girls name I think, not Lesley though)
