Ferres said the squad would be finalised by October. but RF2 I do take your point despite the practicalities, so I would hope for a bunch of players plus the season tickets being announced all at the same time whenever it is, such as scrum half, couple of strike centres and a mountain of a prop plus storming deals on the tickets, with the rest of the squad trickled in to keep the momentum going. Might have to give up my allotment and buy one myself instead of matchday tickets if that happens.

Suspect it's a mixture to be fair; a few in the bank and some still to be negotiated. There may be some others, both in and out, which other clubs might have asked them not to announce yet. I can understand why they spread it out and keep the pot boiling as it keeps the club's name on the forefront of peoples' minds but, speaking as one who would have bought next season's ticket a month ago, if it had been available, I still wish they'd get on with it....whilst at the same time, hoping they don't 'spend up' and have nothing left in the bank to pick up that late surprise which sometimes comes along.

OK the vids are u19s so it will be more difficult for him against experienced players, but I would expect a few try assists from him, so great competition/understudy/exchange for AOB.

Interesting to note that the wire fan who said GoB was on his way to us next season also predicted that Tyrone McCarthy was heading to Hull KR.
Hull KR have announced the McCarthy signing today, so he was spot on with that one...

Hope so. Gaskell and GoB be a fantastic HB combination in SL never mind the championship. He will also solve our goal kicking issue.

I can't see a way back for him at wire, if he can't get in now I can't see him ever breaking in the squad. IF we sign him and IF we so get promotion (I know I'm looking ahead) I could see GoB signing for us permanently as he's at that age whee he needs to be playing regularly. Having a young HB combination of O'brien/Gaskell is what we could rebuild this club around.

I know he's not signed and before anyone says im getting ahead of myself, I'm talking what the POTENTIAL is if we signed GoB.

First things first let's hope he signs, then the hard slog to promotion.

Strange, i've just been speaking to someone over at Wire, he said he'd not heard anything about him coming to us, but he was speaking to Widnes and another SL club. Hope it's not true and we do sign him though.
