At least these guys are out there tackling, Fakir has managed 141 so far with a missed: made tackles ratio of 14% (Addy 541 Olbison 560), for a prop that is well off the acceptable range of 4-8%, and yet his 20 missed tackles do not get him anywhere near the top 50 of missed tackles. Stats yesterday: Addy, not a prop, had a missed to made tackle ratio of 12%, Baldwinson 30%.

So I would put it another way: I would also like Pitts to sign, with a missed tackle ratio of 4% he will add to the back row defensive balance, whilst Olbison and Addy add to the offensive balance with more clean breaks and tackle busts and in Olbisons case nearly 1 metre per carry more gain than Pitts.

I like the glass half full Martin.

I’m not sure Addy’s attacking prowess is enough to cancel out that percentage missed tackles stat. 12% missed is far too many. He should be aiming to get that down to a respectable 6-7%. The likes of Ellis, Farrell and Oliver Holmes have it under 5%.

I take your point about Fakir and Baldwinson. TBH Baldwinson isn’t ready for SL and Fakir while an eye catching runner is really a lardy bloke who can be a liability in defence.

Happy with Addys signing. Has a little bit of mongrel in him. His missed tackles are a concern. But these can be improved.

Problem we had under Cummins is he flogged our back rowers for long minutes, they were more tired hence more missed tackles. Jimmy rotates during the game, keeping hem all fresh.

For me the post isn't glass half full its a fair comment, when looking at the statistics for completed tackles is important to look at the blokes who are stood next to you in the line. If your mate inside is waving them through it make it a bit tough to make your tackle.
