This may have been covered elsewhere, so apologies if it has... given that players are now free agents, why is it that they were not offered for sale whilst under administration. The value of the contracts may not have been much compared to the overall debt, but from a creditors perspective, surely trying to recover something is better than them joining clubs after the liquidation for nothing.
With regards to some of the other comments, unless something miraculous now happens, I think this fiasco has pretty much killed off any lingering interested I have in Rugby League. The game is slowly killing itself, from removing franchises and narrowing its ambitions to focusing on the M62 corridor clubs some years ago, allowing top flight clubs to avoid a moral obligation to youth development, to the frankly ridiculous middle 8s concept, I think I'm pretty much done.
