Also another player announcement tomorrow. Donno perhaps? Although he wasn't with the rest of the squad for pre season today, which is a little concerning.

We are weak in forwards at moment without a doubt. Just don't see point in weakening another area of team to address it. Also bearing in mind we may be centre down anyway depending on what happens with Purtell. Which would also free up a quota spot.

Don't think a player not under contract would be covered by insurance to train.

I'd assume that to be true but just because Donno (for instance) hasn't been announced doesn't necessarily mean he hasn't signed and will be announced in the usual drip-feed manner we get up to the 'early-bird' end date. Or am I being overly hopeful?

We can hope but think it would leak out pretty quickly now lads are back in. Seem to remember pryces training stats being up on wall last year before he officially signed so there's maybe some leeway for unsigned players to train per- signing - maybe at their own risk?.

Well yeah, there have been cases (certainly in the old days) of players who have gone on to pastures new but continue to train with their former club and we've had cases of Aussies coming over after the new year but who have done some fitness work at their old club before flying over, so maybe there is a way round the insurance problem. As for the lads being back in, well absolutely, Twitter and Facebook rule; it must be a nightmare for press guys at clubs these days.
