Yes, theres a few options for whats needed. Brambani looks to be decent all round for your mold B type of player, tho I cannot see the club wanting to give him the two year contract he no doubt would ask for. I also suspect they are going to be looking for someone to suit Gaskell's game as another factor in the decision.
Conroy would be a good signing , obrien as hooker with addy as cover in case along with conroy would cover that position nicely. Liam Finn would be a good choice at half

If Castleford were to offload Finn in favour of Gale then I'd lose all respect for Daryl Powell
What a completely OTT statement. Powell owes Finn nothing, he rescued him from p/t rugby & gave him a chance in SL. He is a competent 31yo. Gale is 26 & should be at his peak. I am confident Powell would make a cracking HB out of him, with Orr & Sheridan as support staff. You only need to see what he has achieved with the previously unrecognised Sneed & (even more incredibly) Jamie Ellis to acknowledge he knows his stuff. No-one wins with sentiment.
There's little sentiment in sport, that is a fact TT. With some decent 'go forward' Cas will get a good season from Gale, if indeed he's signed. For what it's worth, from what I've seen, I'd call Finn a bit better than "competent" this year. 'Course, I've not seen that much..
I'd swap Gale for Finn right now. Powell has done incredibly well this year and CAS are a pleasure to watch, especially the super smart Clarke/Dorn combination up the middle.Clarke will go far that's for sure.

There are very few scrum halves beyond competent in SL - Brough, Walsh & Burrow that I can think of. All the others are limited. I think Cas were bang on not breaking the bank for Sneyd, £100k from Hull just smacks of desperation & ignorance. I am confident Gale, if it is true, will be as successful as Sneyd at Cas.

Sneyd is a lot better than Gale.
However, I would rather have Gale, coached by Powell, than Sneyd (or Thurston, Cronk etc.) coached by Radford.
Sneyd, in an on-form team, has been more influential than Gale in a fairly hit and miss team, but the circumstances under which they've played mean that, to be fair, it's hardly comparing like with like. To be honest, no one ever mentioned Sneyd when he was in an under performing Salford side, in fact he was so underwhelming, he was sent out on loan to Cas...
