Just to add my sentiments to this thread as well.

I thought Saints were as bad as I've seen them in years

Tbh I don't think they were that bad, our pack dominated and forced the errors which made you look worse.

Nah, I don't wish to sour a great win for Bradford but Saints were appalling everywhere. I haven't seen us defend so poorly in a long time, Bradford didn't even do a lot and ripped us open with ease. Gilmour down the right was particularly shambolic.

As For the Saints Game? : Sun Apr 26, 2009 6:08 pm
I saw the game last night (Sky +) and I wondered what Bradford side I was watching? Is that the same side that I have relentlessly slated over the past year and a half for being so bad?

Well. A BIG dose of humble pie was eaten this weekend wasn't it?

What a difference a week makes. The Wire debacle will now be erased from the memory banks and the result v Saints will surely now be a catalyst to get the season started. The performance was enough to suggest that the corner may almost be turned but the way the game went told a much bigger story for me.

A great start seemed to be undone by the inevitable collapse but hey, hats off to the much maligned Mr S McNamara. Whatever he said at half-time certainly did the trick this week as that comeback was simply stunning!

To see the team fight for everything and show the commitment they did is hugely commendable and the praise they will get this week is more than justified.

Of course I have been very verbal about the side recently and this performance was one that I (and I guess plenty of others) have been desperate to see for such a long time now. I stand very much corrected and I hope that we now go on to really rub my nose in it!

A further point I must add is that i regularly stated last season that we cannot beat the "big teams" but that has been put right this season early doors and I reckon that this result could finally start giving us the confidence on, and off the park, to make our mark.

Even better the other night was that it was done with 16 men. Solomona was magic before his injury and we could have let it affect us a lot more than it did.

Well done to all and if this does not lift some of the gloom then I do not know what will. It has to be mentioned that we still need to push on now and there are obviously a few questions still needing answered but that was much more like it.

So, as Pat Benatar sang, Hit Me With Your Best Shot
Well you're the real tough cookie with the long history
Of breaking little hearts, like the one in me
That's O.K., lets see how you do it
Put up your dukes, lets get down to it!
Hit Me With Your Best Shot!
Why Don't You Hit Me With Your Best Shot!
Hit Me With Your Best Shot!
Fire Away!

You come on with a come on, you don't fight fair
But that's O.K., see if I care!
Knock me down, it's all in vain
I'll get right back on my feet again!

Hit Me With Your Best Shot!
Why Don't You Hit Me With Your Best Shot!
Hit Me With Your Best Shot!
Fire Away!

Well you're the real tough cookie with the long history
Of breaking little hearts, like the one in me
Before I put another notch in my lipstick case
You better make sure you put me in my place

Hit Me With Your Best Shot!
Come On, Hit Me With Your Best Shot!
Hit Me With Your Best Shot!
Fire Away!

Hit Me With Your Best Shot!
Why Don't You Hit Me With Your Best Shot!

Yet you then go on to do so.

when two opposite points of view are expressed with equal intensity, the truth does not necessarily lie exactly halfway between them. It is possible for one side to be simply wrong.

Call me a cynic but I reckon Mystic Eddie is planning on going to a game this weekend and thinks he might see a few people from the board! ;)

BTW I know what he looks like and will point him out for the price of a pint! :D Sorry Eddie but the drinks are expensive in Edinburgh and if Adey is there with his talking to Hull youths scary expression I think it could be entertaining!
