If they had a deal in place to play at a ground that met the criteria for whatever league they are in RFL are bound to accept it. If they insist they play at odsal how is that legal?

I'd tell them to shove it. They decided to buy the lease it's their problem what happens with it.

It can't be used as grounds to not accept a bid for reinstatement into the league as that should be seen as a totally separate decision.

I'm on about the real RFL, the ones that are a law unto themselves, the ones that would be pilloried for buying a lease for a ground where the team play somewhere else.

It was a reply to a query as to how the RFL rules appear to work in relation to the reduction of the points sanction, using hypothetical figures. It was never a comment on the Bulls or Green. I just used him as an example.

RL should take on the club like the gov has taken on bad banks like Lloyds - get a company doctor in to nurse the club back to health and prepare for a sale. No points deductions. Instigate an auditing system to check clubs are paying their Vat and income tax.

remember the last time the RFL "helped" the Bulls out, it cost them the lease to the ground and then the majority of the other 13 SL Chairmen/Owners didn't like what the RFL had done so they held the RFL to ransom and voted to steal half the Bulls Sky money as a penalty.......Plus the last "company Doctor" the RFL used was a certain Steve Ferres who was supposed to see that the club was put on an even keel....look how that turned out

Surely if Bradford say they are going to play away from Odsal the RFL can't stop that, however Bradford need to re-apply to rejoin the comp they can refuse to re-admit you if the proposal is at another ground.

So really they can in effect dictate where you play.

That would set a standard for all team going bust. Also the sustainable business plan from the RFL wouldn't include any form of investments so they would just run you as break even. It's a big job and you can't expect them to sort out the mess and then just hand it over to a new owner.

RFL running/funding a club would open a huge can of worms....other chairmen/owners would want the same funding as the RFL was putting into a failing club, would they fund the club along the lines of HKR with a large investment in quality playing staff or along the lines of Swinton etc etc with only part time players........

Anyone seen the RL press today? League Weekly mentions how the Koukash clan have put a bid and so has a consortium led by former NZ and Wigan coach Graham Lowe.

League Express has two article, one being the main press release from the administrator on Saturday. Nothing really new in it. However there is one with Beds R Us owner and brief Bulls owner Mark Moore who has put a bid in with Andrew Calvert. He proposes a share issue with fans. Says there has been too much “chasing the dream”.

Thoughts? I have plenty.

Koukash – welcome the money but not sure about the way they operate. Would they get rid of our academy like they have in Salford?

Lowe – Has a history of talking big but failing to deliver, albeit with NZ Warriors where they had more of their fair share of issues.

Moore/Calvert – Bit wary given they were last seen selling bits of the stadium for scrap last time around. Not sure a share issue would raise much given the way fans seem to be feeling. Would want to remain fulltime with an academy. Less than that isn’t of interest to me.
