Plus side of announcing a big player like O'brien now, is it might convince any "maybes" to get a season ticket now. So it gives them time to save and afford one for when they actually go on sale. Wait until ST go on sale, people might decide they would like to get one, but can't afford straight away. by time they can afford, the early bird is over, and some might think they'll just pay on the gate.

Besides of we are to have a squad of 30, plenty of time for more announcements.

Not someone that I've heard a rumour about, but more someone that I'd be interested in seeing would be Jordan Meads. He's a scrum half that's currently playing at Gateshead. A couple of my mates have played against him recently and said how impressive he was. He's supposedly the main reason behind Gatesheads upturn in fortunes.
I've just read an article on him online and he has a good pedigree. He came through the system at NZ Warriors, and won the NRL Under 20's Grand Final in the same team as Adam Henry, kicking the winning drop goal. He's openly stated that he's come to England in the hope of making it into Super League.

Plus it completes a pack, and after the last two years of suffering thats the best incentive to get a season ticket, a pack with go forward and strength in depth for consistency, so to me thats the priority

I know this is very left-field but after a very stupid week I have only just now watched the recording of Backchat. We had a guy (whose name evades me) from the Press Association throwing a hypothetical into the pot and stirring it around. I refer to the suggestion that a certain Michael Monaghan might consider a club "such as Bradford" to start in coaching. It clearly caught the others (and quite probably many viewers as well) off-guard and he was put back in his place. However, at the Cedar Court do I got chatting to a guy I've never met before who told me that Monaghan was talking to Bradford with exactly that idea in mind. The guy told me that he was a regional manager for a company that does a fair bit of business with Warrington. At the time I took it with a huge piece of rock salt but should I have been so sceptical?

Presumably that would be as Jimmy's assistant?. Would prefer someone with experience rather than a rookie assistant coach tbh. Has he been involved with coaching setup at wire?.

Thinking about it this may have been what tipped balance of decision in our favour for obrien. Being coached by not just one but two of best hookers in SL era is something no over club can offer.

Can't see us signing monoghan as a player. He would command a huge wage and I think Jimmy sees O'brien as the number 1 hooker who will play 80 mins

All sound good , 30 man squad to run through season so not using loans again and hope Adam obrien on a two year deal is the news . Looking forward to the other props been announced later on . Good to know all going to be in place by October. Impressed so far with Marc Green and the board
