The pub ain't there anymore either btw. It was bought by a curry chain, I forget which, several years ago and has been left untouched with a sign on the side saying they'll be opening soon ever since.

Aye. An ex-housemate was the last landlord before it was bought up by those people with the intent to turn it into a curry house. That was the last thing that happened to it as far as I know.

Regarding the Shimla and the Shearbridge pub, I miss the one inbetween far more. The Shezan curry house was a very frequent haunt of mine when I was at Uni, as was the one just up the road that's not there any more. (The Shabina was it?)

Shezan used to do the best chicken kebabs in the world! We used to go there after Rios on a Wednesday when I was a student

Shimla do stonking chicken kebabs. I'm not sure keeping the mayonaisse they drench them in next to the kebab burners is the best idea they ever had like, but the price you pay for that is definitely worth it.
