Past experience suggests that quality players will become available during the season, so I think if we can establish a competitive team now and see how things are going into the season, I'm happy with that.

If we are not too far away from the leaders and showing that we can complete with some backing, then I could see us strengthen for a play off push. However, if we are grinding out wins against Widnes, York and Halifax then no amount of money is going to challenge Leigh and Fev.

The new ownership appears to have steadied the ship and I'm hoping the years of boom and bust are long gone. Until we find a wealthy backer, this is going to be the tale every season going forward.

John brings in players he wants, that’s how it should be.

John brings in players he wants, that’s how it should be.

I'm not saying we should havd signed Pauli Pauli. If you read my post again I said that signing players with his type of profile would stimilate ticket sales. But once again if we can't afford players of this calibre then so be it.

Sadly people don't read comments John. They see what they want to see, then jump down your throat for something they 'think' you meant. Its becoming more common on here im afraid.

I agree another pacey winger would be great and I would have loved to re-sign Hitchcox but it seems our affluent friend at Leigh has snapped him up. Woud probably have cost too much anyway.
