Walshaw would be a good signing. Sorry but even if cheap wage I really don't understand the furore surrounding Ainscough. His defence is worse than fosters, he isn't solid under the high ball. He may have heart and pace but I don't think he is a player we need to be targeting to move forward even in the championship. Sam Wood offers more. Does anyone have ainscoughs try's - games ratio? Particularly for when he played for us and this year for Whitehaven in the championship. Id be interested to know how it compares to our current wingers.

Shaun scored 18 tries in 29 games for Bradford, and so far this season he has scored 10 in 17 for Whitehaven.
By comparison, Jamie Foster has scored 14 tries in 33 games for us.

I think Shaun would be a good squad player, and we still don't know if Kear, George and Williams will be here next season.
If all three of those players move on, we could find ourselves short of wingers.

He also chased down mcgoldrick when we played hull FC a few years ago from the opposite side of the pitch and forced a knock on in the process.

He would come in handy, he would be a squad player no doubt but if we where hitting one of their wings and they where tiring, to throw him on and get him running at them would get us a go forward, we really need some good centre/wing partnerships atm we seem to chop and change far to much.

T & A article today includes the full article regarding Ferres plans for next season. 24 full time senior players and 6 juniors " either already on books or new signings" .In place by October to allow full pre season. A fullback " who can cover at hooker" , 4 strike centres "who can play on wing " plus ( specialist ?) wingers . 5 props and 4 back rows.

Agree with Martin.-- feeling positive.
On re- reading article it's 5 ( not 4) back rowers and Half Backs AND full back who can cover hooker.- apologies to Paul for mistake. Although one Jarrod Sammutt has been known to play at hooker and full back.

Usually the FB can go into the halves, then releasing one of the halves to play hooker if needed. But, yes, Sammut is the only player recently who could cover both positions I suppose. RHP less recently....
