Your point is?
My last word on the matter, you never know you may just merge with Halifax and be known as "the Halifax Bull Soxs"

I would have thought that any Fev fan would keep well away from mentioning Halifax Blue Sox. Or are you just another one that didn't see anything.

Seventeen years is nothing. Maurice Lindsay made a foolish comment on television 26 years ago about Wigan Athletic and we're still paying for it now. :?

Good luck.

Firstly, sudden amnesia from the Fev fan thinking his team came 7th?! Funny that because
Everyone knew that 10 teams were staying up, the rest relegated.

How do you work that out? At the start of the season the rules were the bottom 3 were relegated in a 16 league division. This making us easily safe from relegation. It was only after the season had finished that the decision to relegate 11 and below was anounced.

I remember playing Sheffield towards the back end of the season and we rested many key players resulting in us losing the game narrowly. Would we have done this if we knew what was at stake?

Ask Wigan if they would have rested so many players against Widnes if they thought they would lose.

Re: Chris Caisley sometime in the mid 90s : Tue Jun 26, 2012 11:54 pm
As a fev fan I find it hard to disagree with gingdong. My beef with Bradford started when you pinched Paul Newlove from us for about 200K when the deal should have been at least 500K using Martin Offiah's 440K when transfered to Wigan form Widnes as a guide. I am sure that Mr Caisley had some indication with regards what the trasfer fee would be set to by the tribunal and got the best centre in the british game at a knock down price. Bradford then a few years later sold Newy on in a deal that was worth about 750k if you include the players exchanged.

Then SL comes along and Mr Caisley was involved heavily in the creation of this which resulted in us being kicked out of the top flight. I don't seem to recall the same level of caring RL fans when this happened and in fact many SL fans believe that my club should stay in the past and do not have the right to compete with the so called big boys. A comment that Mr Caisley made in the past quite clearly on the title of this thread.

So when Bradford were winning trophy's and building a decent fan base teams such as us were struggling on just above 1k gates. We had and still have fans disillusioned with the way the game had treated us. From a personal point of view my Dad was one of these and the decision to kick us out of the top flight robbed me of watching my beloved club with him.

Bradford fans have know idea what the creation of SL did to Featherstone Rovers and how hard the struggle has been. If you did then you would realise why we have very little sympathy for Bradford with regards to there financial state.

Would they have rested them if the Widnes v Wigan game was to determine a SL spot?

HURT you dont know the meaning of the word, we were kicked out of the top flight after finishing 7th in 95 for "the good of the game" i have seen Rovers win the league and cup and now we were sacrificed for Paris. Rovers a club that in i think 64 gave the then Bradford Northern several players to get started again. Then some years later in our hour of need we get a public remark like that of one of the big decision makers of the time. Not ONE of you fans took him to task you all bought into it. Sorry like i say what goes round comes round

I see where you are coming for both our clubs got shafted in 95 for the so called good of the game and The Bulls picked a lot of new young support up off the back of it and the game is not has good now despite SL
The Bulls lost money season in season out even through the glory years and that in the end will come and bite you on the backside SL was supposed to end all this yet London/Wakefield/Crusaders/Paris/Halifax/Hull have all being in trouble add to that Widnes and Oldham/Workington who have being left to rot in the lower leagues I fear others are in trouble and 2 or 3 are propped up by a sugar daddy who will get sick of funding the gap in time SL stinks
Others like Hunslet/Dewsbury/Keighley/and Batley have all being shafted at some point all for the so called good of the game not to mention the farce of Hull/Gateshead Hudds/Sheff

BUT
That is not the fault of the people who matter in all this the Bulls fans the players and all the admin staff who now fear for their jobs people with mortgages to pay this is an awful situation for them and I wish them all the luck in the world.

Right, I've stayed away from this thread, but, please stop tarring all of us as Brand new super duper league fans with the implication we don't care about any other team or any events before 1995. Some of know perfectly well what went on and the implications.

I live next door to a fev fan, so I know you're not all as bitter, twisted and angry as the OP. Likewise there were and are plenty of Bradford fans who knew perfectly well how shafted you appeared to be, and other teams at the time and over the years, in '95 there was no rlfans or twitter for the world to bleat on, but I know of plenty of discussions at the time with fellow fans where we discussed it and thought it was unfair....but what hell were we as fans suppossed to do? If it had been the other way round you would have acted the exact same way as us, concerned but ultimately powerless and more intent on your own clubs prospects.

You got a beef with CC, fine, if you haven't noticed so do we. I'm not asking for sympathey, no-one is as far as I can tell, but using this forum to vent your spleens at us fans seems pretty pointless to me. But if it makes you all happy - fire away, gald to help, we have bigger concerns at the moment.
