I can accept failure, but I can't accept not trying.

Re-signging Stuart Fielden would be a huge slap in the face for Steve Crossley. He's the future of the club not some has been.

Fielden is now the class of player that, if he were called anything else, we would be up in arms about signing. He's had his best years and we need to look forward.

Yes there's no point us buying where we are strong. The areas that need strenghthening are not the props or back rowers

tough call this one, they always say never go back.

At the right price he could be an asset and we'd have the cap space easily even taking into consideration the need for some backs.

It would be a good marketing ploy as well due to his history with us.

Do you think we went back when we resigned Paul Sykes to replace Ben Harris? In my book it was a backwards step.

No doubt about it. Harris was twice the player Sykes is.

Lets be fair though, Ben left for his own reasons and with the new rules coming into place wasn't Sykes the best option?

Evans was a better option, but thanks to them not changing the rules until he'd already signed elsewhere, we couldn't keep him.

It was not so long ago that many on these very boards were slagging Ben Harris to high heaven. Now look.

Yup. I was one of the few arguing for Ben, always rated him as a good player, couldn't really see why everyone else didn't.

Although saying that, I was also the one usually sticking up for Scott Naylor, and they're a similar type of player.

Same here. I always liked both of those players.
We used to have a Scott Naylor pass-stake before every game. Think he did 2 in one game once.
