Friends, Romans and tigertot, lend me your ears
Well afrter popular demand I will break my exile in the face of sensational on field performances against Wigan and to tell it like it is as always.
I originally said 10 games to Eddie but he has broken faith with me despite me promising the mother of all McBanana polls on my planned return after 10 games. For shame Eddie, for Shame
Some perspective has been lacking over recent weeks in your ramblings.
Alas some on here have been losing the plot and even had the temerity to suggest 'the end of McBanana'
Et tu Roofaldo, et tu...
I refuse to be seen as part of any tendency positive or negative. BUT someone has to come out against the rhetoric of the 'transitional season' being purported by the likes of FA and af. I don't want to support a club that is saying it is 'transtional' or 'building' after 3 games in. Why can't we be like McDermott and Morgan who have thrown the gauntlet down and already upset a few. The mentality at the club is defeatist and totally unacceptable IMO.
McBanana seems unable to turn around our fortunes - hes more like a droopy carrot at present, and too many are acting like apologists while in reality we are getting worse season on season. I will still give him the benefit of the doubt for 10 games though AS, beleive it or not, there have been
positives.
1. Defense was great in first two games - rewind the clock a week and hey presto we're a different team
2. Some players have improve out of sight from last season - Nero to name but one. People should have had more faith like me all along.
3. Dare I say it but Platt is coming on too.
4. Menzies looks a class act, Morrison great as usual.
5. I reckon we'll start squeezing teams out more when Lynch gets back. He for me is the heart and soul of the team and to do without is like Leeds without Peacock or Senfield.
6. The food at the ground is improving. Although I fear this could be a negative if Solomona is given free reign of Odsal on a matchday
Wigan IMO was just a bad day at the office.
But the overall decline is my worry. FA and af spout on about how we can't expect to win the easy beat teams any more but you guys are the same ones saying our pack can match it with anyone in the league - so which is it to be??? IMO our pack with a fit Lynch is the best in the league and if our backs can get some confidence back we SHOULD be expecting to finish in the top 4/5. So if things don't change drastically after 10 games I will be calling for sliced Banana...
But give him time yet. The bad run so far COULD be explained by the interupted start plus a bit of simple bad luck (Wigan).
All in all I feel we STILL have the personnel in place to be succuessful, improving on last year. Whilst criticsing in these forums is OK we need to get behind the boys next week when they are out on the paddock against Dull. COME ON YOU BULLS
