Clubs shouldn't be in the position where players need to wheel out "we are all behind the coach/manager" type comments, we should all be able to see that evidenced out on the pitch, when players do come out with such a statement it invariably asks more questions than it answers.
That said, during the week, what else are the players expected to do? Play a game in everyone's back garden to show that they can do it?
As it's been earlier posted, damned if you do, and damned if you don't. At least the players know they're not playing to their potential, and are willing to openly come out and back the coach?
