We often look a bit lost on the last tackle when we're close to the line, I know the in goal areas are tiny but I'd like to see us build pressure with short kicking a bit more. Losing Milnes didn't help as his short kicking was great but I think we are too predictable and if it's not a bomb or a kick to the winger we turn it over. That's not good enough.

Anyway hoping Patton can add something here.

I think I could count on one hand the mount of times we put a grubber into the on goal this season. Drives me potty too. I think we did it once against Batley in the play-offs and scored...

Don't know why we don't do it more rather than just aimlessly floating a kick up across the pitch.

Rumoured to be battling it out, but likely missing out on Joe Wardle with Leigh.

That would have been one hell of a coup. Certainly looking like we're looking at that next level of quality though.

Potentially a bullet dodged there imo. Another player getting towards the end of his career who will be demanding a high salary based on past glories. When was the last time you saw him do anything of note, or even put a string of performances together?
We should be using York's 2021 recruitment as a cautionary tale.

He’s 30 not 34 so they wouldn’t be interested in him

Hes only just turned 30 a couple of week a go. Think he could be devastating at this level.

Get what you're saying about not falling into the trap of Yorks recruitment for this year. But they signed a far too many 34+ year olds. At this level you need to get the balance of signing experienced players who are no longer quite good enough for SL, but add star quality at championship (like Craig Hall, Remi Casty etc) and not signing too many "has-beens" who are too old.
