So much of this doesn't add up.
Mick goes on about this bidder being backed by Green yet the T&A say it's the New Zealand group headed by Chalmers who made a late bid after the administrator's deadline. Frank reckons the bid has been on the table from day 1 - so not Chalmers then?
Someone's got their facts mixed up somewhere and it's probably me.
Anyway. The quote from the administrator about redundancy isn't good at all. That sounds like things have reached an impasse.
Wonder if Lamb or Irvine will come into the picture again?
Meanwhile it's likely we'll start to lose staff and players the longer this wears on as there won't be money to pay them.
Agreed Bullseye. I do hope that Frank's version is nearest to the truth. He's been accurate in the past, most recently on the appointment of Rohan Smith. Nobody else saw that coming.
I recall that the T and A has identified Irvine and Roberts as the chosen ones in the past few weeks. It's now saying Chalmers. So that paper's track record is not 100%.
Whoever is in that room with the RFL must be offering something worth consideration by the RFL. Otherwise they would not have entered a 3rd day of negotiations.
Surely it's not beyond the wit of the parties to find a solution to the lease which is beneficial to all. That could mean the RFL keeping an interest / share of whatever future development may happen.
As Early Bath has said , some common sense is needed as people's livelihoods are at risk .
It's imperative that the players and staff are told today what is happening - before the media and before the fans.
I think we all need another optimistic post from Frank........
