Re: Administration 3 - now in technicolour : Tue Dec 20, 2016 12:49 pm
the council also have a big part to play, they are the ones who grant planning permission so if they also put conditions on future development that the stadium has to be upgraded/rebuilt at certain stages of development of the land and not renege on them and hold the developer to the clauses as wakefield councillors have.... Bradford could end up with a stadium that would put all other rugby league grounds in the shade.. here's hoping for a good outcome

I'm not blaming the administrator. He's just doing a job.

Why should the RFL not take partial blame for this 5year fiasco?

Nobody is blaming the RFL, but they need to come to the table with a sincere approach in terms of their willingness to even discuss the sale of the Odsal leasehold.

If they're not prepared to discuss it we will never attract a credible buyer, (which is what we have right now) and we'll forever end up with a local Tommy two jags who wants to stroke their ego for a couple of years before the next financial crisis.

Time for the grown ups to get in the room!

Take a step back 1 second and look at where the RFL find themselves. If they had given the lease up to Marc Green where would everyone be now? You think it's hard to get out of the hands of the RFL who I believe will hand it over when they have a successful takeover in place and confidence that takeover will last more than 2 years without admin how hard would it be to get out of Marc Green's hands?

No one since the sale of the lease has proven they have the finance or the management to move forward at this stage, so it is only right the RFL keep tabs on the lease until confidence can be shown.

2015 - major missed opportunity, 2016 - stronger teams = harder task (no problem there then), 2017 - OMG What now!!!

Well according to reports they must be willing to discuss it as it is alleged a meeting is happening. The supposed buyer will be trying to get the lease for next to nothing (initially) at a guess. Why is it so important to the buyer that he also has the lease? Is that imperative to the saving of the club, personally I think not. Maybe he/she doesn't care as much as you thought about the club. Why would they want to shell out 1.25M when just paying the rent would be far far cheaper.....and the club is saved. A simplistic view maybe, but an opinion that is all. I am not aware of what can or cannot be done in and around the ground. Certainly nothing has been done that has increased its net worth to the Bulls in the last 20/30 years.

Re: Administration 3 - now in technicolour : Tue Dec 20, 2016 1:43 pm
That is the problem. Will we ever get a rich enough buyer for the club who loves the club so much that they will pump millions into it because they are supporters. I doubt that very much. The ground and profits from it may be the only reason someone would spend big. As long as the Bulls use that to their advantage then fair enough. Other clubs have moved from their historic homes to new stadia and seen shopping centres and houses built on the old ground.

I have been going to Odsal for 40 years and would love to see the back of it and share a new small stadium with someone else. If we can get that and stay at Odsal along with other developments then that would suit others also. Its just a hole in the ground fit for development if the Bulls fold. So I hope they are treating it as such in that meeting and come to a good compromise where everyone is reasonably happy.

Because Odsal sits on a huge footprint of land, on which you could build other profit-making things, such as hotels, and still have enough space for a rugby ground. If Frank is right, the profitability of the other things is part of the Bulls revival.
