| Quote inside man="inside man"I don't think the RFL would see you liquidated, just doesn't make any sense.'"
Agree with this.
It says "develop the stadium" not the land or ground. Hopefully, this means the new owner sees a new rugby stadium which surely is what the RFL wants.
I still don't agree the RFL want us to close. It is easy to slag them off but without teams they don't exist and get paid. I believe they are desperate for us to prosper again and add to a slowly dieing SL competition.
I still feel good about this. The fact that one person who wants to spend money on the stadium is still there arguing their point must be a good sign = isn't it?
I don't care if a company buys Odsal and makes money from it with commercial units etc as long as the club survives. Other RL clubs have sold their ground to developers and got a new stadium out of it. What is wrong with the council / RFL doing that? Use what you have to get what you want - or die tomorrow with lots of lovely memories in your head but nowt in your pocket.
The question for the RFL is do they dig their heels in and let the club fold or get their money back and leave it to the owners to do what they wish as long as the Bulls survive.

| Quote Frank Whitcombe="Frank Whitcombe"So we are where we've been for three weeks, as I've mentioned on here a few times the same bidder, the same sticking point. This deal could have been done two weeks ago!
The bidder wants to put money into the Bulls, but also wants a route back to sustained commercial activity to allow them to build on and OFF the pitch and not simply have an asset they need to keep shovelling money into - even if we were SL and WC champs the prize money and sponsorship on offer doesn't cover the cost of running a successful RL club, that's why the successful clubs either own or have control of their stadiums and surrounding development opportunities.
So our route back to sustained commercial activity is leveraging odsal and developing it properly, so the Bulls can be revived initially and grown eventually.
For me the RFL need to offer the lease at the right commercial value to this or any other bidder and prove they're willing to discuss the sale properly and secure RL in Bradford at Odsal - if they don't we have no club.
Seriously big day, today'"
You're very much right in what you say Frank, that this could have been sorted two to three weeks ago.
Gary Petitt's conduct will be brought into serious question once this dark episode is concluded.

| Think the underlying problem is that to progress with any private investment, the asset of owning the site is paramount in negotiations.Any proposed redevelopment is dependant on securing funding against that asset and the eventual return through profit.

That's assuming the administrator has even done anything wrong, considering the allegations of such have only come from Billy as far as I've seen and nobody credible.

| There’s always lots of accusations flying around at times like this, usually to do with the last owner and the administrator. I remember the accusations thrown at Khan and Whitcu*t and at Gargoyle in the admin before that.
I don’t recall any of them ever amounting to anything so doubt they will this time either.

| I think everyone needs to stop blaming the RFL, they need to get market value but they will also know what the development value of the land is. I wouldn't expect them to take anything less than £4m for the lease and a % of any forward sale.
The RFL are right to put the game as a whole over the interests / survival of one club.

| it looks like the RFL want a fair price for the lease but also want cast iron guarantees that Rugby will be played at Odsal as long as there is a team to play there. Evidence that the team will be invested in and that the ground will be improved, this all comes at a cost and does not return a profit for the owner unless the site is developed for commercial purposes. The RFL's biggest fear in giving up the lease is that promises made to secure the Bulls future may lead to the stadium never being upgraded/rebuilt because the developer suddenly finds legal loopholes as per Wakefield's new stadium....It's a difficult position for the RFL and the new prospective owner......

Indeed.
It'll be an interesting meeting. I hope the new bidder is up to scratch and I hope the RFL is open to negotiation.
