As Gale can't defend for toffee signing him and allowing Briggs to go wouldn't make a jot of difference to the squad IMO.

I'd not be surprised if it were Phelps.

TBh I'm thinking either Phelps or Obst. both seem redundant at hull next year and both decent all rounders, but not anything to get excited about and not sure what they add that players already on board dont already offer. is Phelps still a quota player? waste of a quota spot if we get him IMO.
