That was the common assumption, but it was mentioned somewhere in the last day or two (might have been in the T&A Opinion piece yesterday) that Whitehaven have heard nothing about that possibility.

The option of just giving a bye to every team due to play us isn't one that's possible because of the Summer Bash. I would think they would have to promote a team into our place, and then the Championship 1 teams due to play that side would instead get a bye that week (since they have no stupid and unfair "extra" fixture thrown in). Whitehaven would be the most logical team as the highest placing team overall from last season, currently in Champ 1. If they promoted any other team instead, it would show favouritism.

It would be just the sort of logic the RFL are good at to relegate us not thinking of the effect it might have on the lease in terms of rent and sustainability. So I fully expect that to happen.

Can't see them doing byes as it means every other team in championship missing out on revenue from a home game. That loss off revenue would push a few more teams over the edge.

They were about to do it anyway in Champ 1 if York hadn't got their act together. So clubs in that league were already slightly planning for the possibility.

Think it was talked about but never confirmed. When the original fixture list came out, the place where York's fixtures now are, was a week off.

If the Manchester plan was what they were going to do though, that would work too. Whitehaven move into Bradford's place in Championship and Manchester take theirs in Champ 1.

Yes it's a bit of an upheaval for some sides (more so for Toulouse & Toronto I would think), but I can't think Haven and Manchester would be complaining.

I am been optimistic this time tomorrow..
1) new worthwhile owner
2) plans in place to develop odsal
3) 6 point deduction

However I am fully expectant it will all go to rat $hit too.

I'm not even getting my hopes up of an announcement tomorrow. I'm fully expecting another "we like getting paid, so we're going to carry on doing so and continue with due dillegence for another few days yet".
