Can I just be the first to say that this won't help us and we are all doomed. Anyone who feels inexplicably upbeat about this appointment is a fool. Anyone who thinks anything good will happen to us is a fool. FOOL FOOL FOOL.

Oh no. Score one for knowing someone who told you something but we can't be distracted by another bout of the "I know something you don't" guessing game over who helped Green!!

But I'll guess Nathan Brown because he's also a colour.

To be fair to Frank, he was at least on the money this time. Unlike when he said for definite that we were getting Stephen Kearney to replace McNamara.

Remember people, if it's on the internet it's there for EVER :D

Good comments from Tony Rae about him. Say's he will be very pro-active in player recruitment and will bring in his players. Very encouraging.
There were times when it appeared Mr green was starting to get stick.
Look at it now. He saved the club and put it on a level footing. Built the youth team - players and staff up again. yes, Jimmy didn't work but it was a fair punt at the time. Now, he looks to have made a bold and exciting appointment. If Rohan is given the free hand to bring in a handful of players he has done a decent job in his first two years especially as we all know he hasn't millions to throw at the club.

I was in line for the role.

I didn't mention it, as I didn't want to get your hopes up too much, but it obviously didn't work out in the end and it was kicked sideways to young Smith.

Total bullsh.it apart, I find myself inexplicably upbeat about it all. Green has (yet again) played a blinder for the club, and when I look at the experience our new coach has very clearly built up over many years, plus he couldn't have a better pedigree, then I'm frankly amazed that we managed to get him. And for 3 years!

Bravo, Mr. Green!

As a former Head Coach of Tonga, all I want him to do now is stop off in Tonga on the way here, and pick up any young scrum half of his choice (he must know a few) and smuggle him on the plane.

Whether he does that or not, I'd bet a lot of money that he won't stand for the madcap "no need for a 7" theory for five minutes. Ferres, or whoever dreamed that up, should have their mouth duct-taped automatically any time they in future are thinking of venturing a rugby based opinion.

This is tiresome. Just admit you were presenting speculation/ rumours as fact.
Surely the most likely explanation is that an ex Bulls coach was asked by one of his former players for an opinion. Highly likely Mick Potter was also asked for an opinion.
I suspect Brian Smith was considered a little too close to be objective

If you are finding writing on a forum tiresome then you might want to consult a doctor. It could be as simple as a poor diet or maybe low testosterone levels. Anyway probably worth getting it checked out pal.

I think the whole "don't need a 7" quote was just Lowes opening his mouth before engaging his brain - a trait that seemed to be prevalent in most of his dealings with the press.

However, given his experience and contacts, I would imagine that someone will be taking possession of the number 7 shirt at Odsal sooner rather than later.

Well I feared the worst. I thought we’d end up with Bobbie Goulding as player coach and Ferres saying he’d got a us a passionate coach and a scrum half rolled into one.

As it is we seem to have got one of the most highly rated assistant coaches in the NRL. Really we couldn’t do much better. He should really shake things up and will be bringing the latest thinking and methods with him. He’s got heaps of experience for such a young bloke and should be a great mentor for our younger lads coming through. If I was in the U16s or U19s I’d be very much looking forward to learning from him.
