Wow! What a win.
We looked like a different side to the one we've seen so far in 2021. It's taken us 5 games to finally get the ball rolling but today I thought we were immense! The fightback to drag themselves back in to the game after a shocking start was brilliant. I was fully expecting another long afternoon but the squad wrestled their way back into a position to challenge for the 2 points. Well done JK for getting this response.
I felt Halifax should have put the game to bed in the opening 20 minutes with the amount of possession and field position they had on the back of our poor discipline. They also got a second wave of energy and attacking territory on the back of good work by Stringer and Bourouh coming off the bench really got them attacking with some real ferocity and pace.
Great organisation from Brough for the drop goal as well. The Halifax defensive line were all set to charge out towards him but he was the decoy and Lilley calmly slotted the drop goal over to secure the 2 points.
Such a shame there were no fans there to watch that game. Atmosphere would have been electric.
