Do you understand how forum threads work? I'm no expert but I think that if you have a comment to add to an existing topic then you can add it to the end of the relevant thread rather than starting a new one every time. We now have several on this topic and if I'm not mistaken, there is one called 'current pledge numbers' which was also started by someone called terrace singer. I think it would have been ok to add your new comment to that.

And the reason you didn't just add this to the end of your "Current pledge numbers" thread is ....? :SHOOT:

The main reason I mention this is because I commented on the statement from the club yesterday lunch time, but I can't remember which thread it was on because some sprout keeps starting new threads on the same topic. I can't be arsed reading through them all.

I think I'll start a new thread so I know where I am.

Ok. A friend baught a season ticket but has not steped foot in odsal once. Has he been put on the official attendence this season and if so is that not incorrect reporting of a match day attendence?

depends on the definition of "match day attendance" according to HMRC. Your opinion on what attendance is doesn't matter a jot.

IMO the attendance figure is "paid attendance" for the game, matters not if you bought last year and threw it away never intending to step foot in Odsal, or paid the week before and left in the first 10 min, or if you paid cash on the gate and stayed until the bitter bitter end, its all attendance paid for the game and it all counts as income as far as the club is concerned for that fixture and its all announced.

If no one turned up to the next home game (surely not :SHIFTY: ) they could still announce the paid attendance as 11,000+ ...because it is, the ticket holder choosing to take up the option and the actual number of people stood on the terrace is another matter entirely.

BTW if the club hit 15k it will be astounding and a far bigger acheivement than last year, the players on the pitch need to step up and do their bit in these next 3 games to at least show some positive signs for people who might be waivering and help fix some of the damage the second half performance straight after the pledge announcement may have done.

agree. 15k would be amazing. plus it would get me £40 back so I would be very happy!

It would be nice if the club could announce a foot fall figure. People who actually attended the game. I have no doubt that the club know this figure but I'm not sure what they gain by announcing it. Seeing as they don't announce it, it would seem the club agree.

Correct, it will only ever be lower than the paid attendance so it makes no sence as the only people to benefit from such an announcement would be people looking for bad news or spin to run the club down. HMRC only want to know who paid, and the sponsors want to know how many their message is potentially getting to and its in the clubs interest to announce the higher figure, so you're 100% right, a lower footfall figure announcement gains nothing.

It would be £20 back for me, but still good. I can see 12,000 being doable, but I stuggle to see how we get an extra 3000 with whats been happening on the pitch...hope I'm wrong.
