He does? or maybe it's you who has this need. Extract from a February 2009 update:
A specialist team has been appointed to the Odsal Sports Village as the scheme takes another step forward.
Bradford Council selected EC Harris following a rigorous tender process to carry out feasibility studies to deliver the Odsal Sports Village.
EC Harris, in conjunction with their partners, WSP, DLA Architecture and Strategic Leisure, have a wealth of sports, leisure and stadia expertise with previous projects including the MEN Arena in Manchester, the English Institute of Sports Centres of Excellence at Loughborough University, Leigh Sports Village and the Bisham Abbey National Sports Centre.
Leader of Bradford Council and chairman of the Odsal Sports Village Steering Group, Coun Kris Hopkins, said: "Things are progressing on the Odsal Sporting Village and we are looking forward to seeing the plans EC Harris provides us with.
"We have received overwhelming support from a large number of partners who all share our vision to provide a world-class facility in Bradford that can be enjoyed by everyone in the district and we are determined to deliver it." Link
The announcement follows recent support for the scheme from a wide-range of partners including the Bradford Bulls, Bradford College, The University of Bradford, Bradford and Airedale Teaching Primary Care Trust, Yorkshire Forward, Sport England and a variety of National Governing Bodies.
It may be cool to be seen as cynical, but do you seriously believe that the whole lot of all these major bodies are all entirely wasting their time, and money, for nothing?

If i could see some of these "supporters" actually putting money in to the scheme, rather than the council funding it all so far I would not be so "Cynical"!
I have lived in BD 6 for all but 2 of my 32 years, and I want this facility as much if not more than anyone. however, my experience as a Bradfordian suggests that if something does not happen straight away with a project, it will not happen!
That is not cynicism, just experience of 32 years living in a district that does not know how to move forward like many of our neighbours have!

So, you do seriously believe that the whole lot of all these major bodies are all entirely wasting their time, and money, for nothing. It's a point of view.
I suggest that only BMDC and the bulls have put any money in yet . The rest have supported the scheme in principle, or will put money into it at a later date! these organisations will only invest when it is sure to happen. we are still funding (We as in Bulls fans and Bradford taxpayers) feasability studies.
So I am not suggesting they are all wasting their time, I am suggesting they are biding their time!

They have put money into it.

I unfortuantely do read what you write. As you appear to suffer from short term memory loss, I suggest you do likewise. To suggest you do NOT think they are wasting their time, but simply biding their time, is the opposite of what you said, which is, specifically, that you expect OSV to "fail".
WTF would I "want" to see from you? I don't know you! You're the self-styled cynic whose stated opinion, and which I note is your considered opinion and not mere cynicism, is that "it will not happen".
It is quite ironic that you mention Leigh, btw, when the people appointed to crack on with the next stage are the same people that were responsible for the nuts and bolts of the Leigh project.
But people who live in the Aire Valley aren't from Bradford, they are from Bingley, Keighley or wherever,
Just because the government, in their wisdom, decided to create a Bradford Met District doesn't mean that people are now Bradfordians, because they aren't.
In fact if they weren't part of thos faux district we might actually get more things done in Bradford itself, the leaders of our council all live out in Haworth, Ilkley etc and don't actually seem to be in touch with the reality of life in then city.
Well said Asim.
The fact is that nobody in the district is well served by the Met District being set up as it is, whether they be from Bradford the city, or from the outlying towns.
Odsal Sporting Village might well be great for people on the south side of the Met District, but it offers nothing to the like of Keighley, Silsden etc..
But then why should I have an opinion, I only pay rates.
As a kid I often used the Richard Dunn centre yet it was miles from where I lived at the time (Pudsey). I suspect the users of that place weren't confined to those from south Bradford. I don't see the future users of OSV to be any different.
Having one development at Odsal is better than none at all IMO. If that means having to travel then tough cheese!

It can't be described as "tough cheese" ?!?
We pay rates, so should expect the same level of facilities.
It's not practical to expect people from this end of the valley to use facilities in Odsal, particularly as people are now enourage to use public transport. I can get the train to Leeds quicker!
“At last, a real, Tory budget,” Daily Mail 24/9/22 "It may be that the honourable gentleman doesn't like mixing with his own side … but we on this side have a more convivial, fraternal spirit." Jacob Rees-Mogg 21/10/21

Having lived on the posh side (it's relative) of Bradford for the last 15 years I have never been to Richard Dunne. Apart from a pool I don't know what is there. I assumed there were similar facilities closer to where I lived. Without the poor people.

So what do you want?
Two brand new sports facilities, one on each side of the city? In fact, why not 4 - N, S, E and W?
